Yup Suggs has a beautiful shot release. His role wasn’t to go jack up 3s on that zags team that has a number of other players who score the ball
I'm cheering hard for Capela in this series, Collins was good too. Even liked Hill off the bench for some solid effot defense
The difference is you're guessing if he has a shot. Trae came into the NBA with that being his skill. Every prospect does one thing that we know will translate. For Trae, we knew his handles and shooting would translate. For Green we know his athleticism will translate For Mobley we know his interior defense should translate. Suggs thing is his passing, that's going to translate fine to the NBA and his overall running an offense...his shooting is question mark, Trae's never was. I tell people this all the time, scouts have to look at players beyond their numbers and that's what happened with Trae. They ignored the numbers for that year and predicted he'd be a great shooter. they were right.
It's kinda of a fitting irony that we're torn between a center and guards and now two ex-Rockets from both positions could potentially square off in the Finals to help answer that question.
Trae may have shot "only" 36% in college, but the difficulties of those threes were extreme. Most were off the dribble, contested, 25 to 30 footer and only a few were the wide open spot up variety.
Honestly, Trae should fix his shot selection. There were a lot of possessions where a play broke down, and instead of trying any other play, Trae just jacked up a 3.
The next generation is HERE! Playoff High Trae young - 48 Steph Curry - 47 Luka Doncic - 46 J Harden - 45
Pretty crazy how, before the season started, most people (if not every single person) pegged the Hawks to be a fringe playoff team at best. Now, they're 7 wins away from a ring.
Agreed, he definitely had some questionable shot selection and still sometimes does. But just his % isn't an accurate representation of his shooting abilities.
Suggs has passing, court vision, finishing ability, and mentality. Guys like him are rare and don't come along every draft or every other draft. His shot he can work on and its not bad to begin with. He's also not afraid of the moment. I'm still not sure what Jalen Green is supposed to be. He's the only other option at #2.
yep thats what i said the suns last year in the bubble showed signs that they were gonna break out this year before they even got cp3
How is Suggs better than former Arizona Wildcat Miles Simon? I get kind of stuck on that. Simon was 6-5 and dominant in NCAA competition. He was a great competitor, but he didn't have the athleticism to truly succeed in the NBA. To me, Suggs could be in a similar situation.
Suggs doesn't have athleticism now? not sure where folks get these assumptions but That isn't a problem at all https://primetimesportstalk.com/2021/06/09/2021-nba-draft-scouting-report-jalen-suggs/ There are no question marks when it comes to Suggs’ athleticism. He is one of the most athletic players in the class and much of his success will be a result of it. On offense, Suggs does a great job of using his athleticism and physicality to attack the rim and score. On defense, Suggs does a great job of being active and constantly moving his feet to tip passes, get steals, or prevent baskets.
