If we trade, I wouldn't want to go lower than the #4 pick. That means we could trade with Cleveland or Toronto. Feels like there's a step-down in quality as you get to pick #5... so if we could move back two slots, pick up another asset (or move Wall), and still get one of Suggs/Mobley/Green, then I'm good with that. Strongly prefer Suggs to Mobley and Green, due to his on-court leadership, passing, defense and competitive fire. Most casual fans will only look at dunking highlights. The real differentiators are defense and creating shots for not only yourself, but others. Making others better. That's where Suggs excels.

Every window of opportunity closes eventually. It's just part of the lifecycle of an NBA franchise. This team contended for 5-6 years, took one of the greatest teams ever to game seven but couldn't pull through. We've been lucky to follow this team during Harden's tenure.

Morey left, yes. People here were frustrated with D'Antoni long before he left too. And Harden decided he would have a better chance to win elsewhere. And people are here still b****ing six months later as if complaining will have any effect on this team's fortunes whatsoever. Pathetic really is the best description for this nonsense.

As far as the inevitable rebuild goes, after year one we have C Wood, KPJ, KJ, Tate, this year's #2, #23, #24 and unprotected pics/swaps for the next 5/6 years.

If you're still hanging on to last offseason then that's entirely on you. It will only compromise your ability to see that this team has a bright future with all that unchecked psychological projection about what you think Tilman might do in an entirely fantastical worse-case scenario. But go ahead though, totally disregard what TF himself and Stone have said about not compromising the team's future assets in an attempt to become mediocre in the short-term.

Stick with whatever your fractured psyche tells you, I'm sure you're probably right

This is the most activity on the Clutch board in a long time. Great to see!

Really like Milos trade scenario of Wood, House, DJ Wilson and #24 for Wiseman, Oubre and #7. Think it involves a couple of sign and trades. Started to fade on Wood and would prefer Wiseman at this point. Oubre is a bit of a knucklehead, but House is worse. Actually think House would do well in GSW system.

If we do go Mobley, get a player and assets for Wood. If not Wiseman, then Bamba ( ORL ) Robert Williams ( BOS ) or Paul Reed ( PHL ) again PLUS assets.

What if the #2 pick allows you to convert JWall into Luka?

I love Mobley & Suggs and think both could become cornerstones
I'm convinced Green will win multiple future scoring titles

None of those guys has already ascended into a top 10 perennial MVP candidate who's intuitive perception of basketball literally creates an entire OFF system when the ball is in his hands

He is going to be one of the icons of the NBA for the next decade 10+

If you see a young centerpiece on the table, you grab it, every time
Once you have that guy, you know what kind of team you are trying to build
    HE is your culture

We just saw the end of the exact same cycle with Harden
Name me 1 player from the 2012 lotto you wouldn't have traded to get Harden then other than ADavis ...
THEN you can use all those other stockpiled future picks to build organically

The Lakers built organically for almost a decade after Kobe:
    DeAngelo Russell
    Julius Randle
    Brandon Ingram
    Kyle Kouzma
    Lonzo Ball

In the end, signing mid-30s LeBron led directly to the Davis trade
    Instant Championship

You think Lakers fans are looking at the Pelicans, TWolves, or Knicks thinking "yeah, the ring was nice, but what could have been with all these stat-stuffers leading teams into lotto purgatory"

Instantly accept this if you are the Rockets. OG is very good - especially defensively.

My thinking exactly might just have to settle for Suggs who IMO will help KPJ flourish more then green possibly by allowing KPJ to really get his shots.

    Might end up something like

    Suggs
    KPJ
    OG
    Tate
    Wood

    Exactly

And why wouldn't Dallas be pushing for that?
Cade is potentially Luka in a year or so

Why in the world would Luka let them trade him to Detroit?
These MAX guys don't get traded anywhere unless they want to be there

More often the player works out his destination by talking to other players and finding a good Superteam situation
Then it's up to front office to work out a deal

The days of bidding wars in trades are over
LeBron changed it all forever with THE DECISION
Superstars dictate their GM, coaches & teammates directly to ownership

I actually think either Luka or Giannis is going to work their way to the Warriors this off-season
They have an ideal package ready to go for a MAX swap

    Wiggins
    Oubre
    Wiseman
    #7 + #14
    FFPs

That's a warchest of disposable assets to instantly reclaim their throne as the dominate NBA franchise

    Just imagine:
    Giannis
    Dray
    Klay
    Curry

People getting vaccinated and crowds are coming back. I reckon Tilman wants an established star to sell tickets.

Dude!! You've missed the train of though there.
The question is "would the Mavs trade Luka for pick 1 or pick 2?"

The point is that IF it is possible to trade him to the worst team in the league for pick 2, then is it not FAR MORE POSSIBLE to trade him to a better team (with young talents), and receive back pick 1?

I'm with you - superstars don't go to trash teams. Agree with your premises. But look at the premise being argued against above...

    I'd trade no 2 for 7, 11 and Wiseman.

GSW can get Green for their instant rebuild.

Its not so much a fractured psyche. You have actual quotes in the past of tilman lying and doing the exact opposite of what he tells fans/public/press. So that skeptism was earned by him.

He definitely changed the trajectory of the franchise as he had the GM doing gymnastics to ignore or throw assets for money savings during a championship window. He lost more fans when he lied and blamed other to the media.

those htings can be true and admitted with someone still being able to see we're generally in a good position of a rebuild with a top 2 pick, good young pieces, and basically waiting out the wall/gordon contracts, except everything else is looking forward and tilman won't have to really spend on any tax stuff for 3-6 years s

Please elaborate your post. Are you talking about picks or an additional player?

How does Wiseman compare with Rishaun Holmes(Sacramento) or Thomas Bryant(Washington injured list)?

I think Christian Wood needs help in the frontcourt. Not sure if Mobley is the answer.
