    I mean - this is the correct answer. You have the #2 pick in a strong draft. a treasure trove of future firsts with a team that is almost guaranteed to suck without making big moves, and a few big salary pieces sitting around without a future in Houston. The responsible thing to do is leave the door open and listen to offers if someone is willing to offer someone big in exchange for some of those pieces.

    It doesn’t mean you make a move - and the likelihood is no one is going to offer anything really truly valuable but if people think you aren’t interested in trading, then you may not even get a chance to make an offer in “the big trade”. Stone was around Morey enough to know all those bs “sources say” rumors were strategically valuable even if nothing came of it 95% of the time.

    I think you're all looking at this the wrong way. You don't put out that you're not looking to make deals. If teams think the Rockets are open who knows what kind of offers they may get if someone is really high on a player or their own star player has demanded a trade.

    I mean you have guys like Cameron Payne scoring 29 in the conference finals. It easier to replace guards in this league not quality centers.

    their is no franchise player out there worth trading this pick for. Bradley Beal, Zach Lavine, Dangelo Russell are all flawed wing players
