He'll be 25 next month but yes. I'd feel a little less bullish about if he were an early entrant or something, but he's only completing year 4 as well, so there's time.

He simply doesn't love basketball as much as everyone wants him to love it.

You are the goofy one here just take the L and move on. You are the only one who keeps insisting Simmons is worth all these picks when clearly he isnt.

Marks isnt the one who made the Celtics deal it was the previous GM, Billy King. Who cares whether Marks is sweating or not, the Nets package is better than the Philly package regardless. You still think Simmons, Maxey, Thybulle and 1-2 frps are still better at this point? You really that dumb? Lol.

Of course if the price is right but Morey wont give up multiple assets just to get rid of Simmons lol. Its not like he'll take Jwall and Gordon for Simmons, he'd prob do a Kemba Walker swap before he takes JWall.

Simmons problem is he isnt willing to improve. If you look at Giannis vs Simmons, Giannis started out much rawer and more of a project but worked on his game consistently. He still isnt a deadeye shooter but at least he is makes enough fts to not be a liability. Simmons is Melo, he came to the league really developed (except for shooting) but doesnt really do any work in the offseason and is essentially still the same player since his rookie year.

Now that we have the #2 pick, would yall trade it for Simmons?

I would ask Lavar Ball to refer him to whoever helped Lonzo and LaMelo, because they somehow were able to fix their shots.

The Balls shooting problem was mechanic. Their dad did not believe in correcting kids' shooting form. Mechanic can definitely be fixed.

Simmons doesn't have mechanic issue. His shooting form looks fine. He either has poor shooting touch or he has mental block, or both. Those things are much more difficult to change.

No. Whoever we draft at #2 will hit at least 40% of their free throws and is willing to shoot.

Yeah. This result is basically the end of the Simmons sweepstakes for me. Moving on...

It's a choice, but you don't have to be so invested in being right about this that you can't think rationally. Taking the L isn't that hard when it's ultimately what's better for the Rockets.

With us getting this pick, and with Simmons looking awful in the 2nd round, at the moment I feel a bit better about the Nets package

I also feel a little less devastated by the CP3 deal but that just brings my devastation down from 10/10 to 9.5/10

Dont forget we only got KPJ due to the Nets package.

Cp3 deal is 2 swaps and 2 picks however the picks are non conveying into the next year, since we won the coin flip the cost now is just 1 pick and 2 swaps. Theoretically we could end up not paying any pick at all should the Rox continue to suck for the next 3 years. Your devastation should be down to 7.5 after today lol

CP for WB alone was a minimum devastation level of 8

Each pick and swap counts for exactly 0.5 jigawatts of potential devastation

I agree. Running it back in 2020 with CP3 and Harden could have given the Lakers fits that year and that trade marked the end of Harden in Houston. But I kinda think Harden's best years are being him and we got the best package we could for a player that may never win a ring.

So glad we didn't end up with Simmons though.
