Stone got a bag of chips from trading Tucker away.

He will probably need to give the other team lots of bags of chips to trade Gordon away.

Anyone will believe Eric Gordon having any positive trade value at this stage is laughable.

WIth his age, his track records of injuries and most importantly, his contract situation.

Just compare him to Kemba Walker and you will understand.

We need to keep Gordon unless we get Turner from Indiana......Gordon and Augustin would be great coming off the bench.....veterans, nice shooting and 2 way players....We need Cunningham for the first pick.....take a center who has size and can block shots and rebound.....trade the 3rd FRP and two players and a next year FRP and get Lavine from Chicago......

    Porter
    Lavine
    Cunningham
    Wood
    Olynyk

    nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I doubt you find a good trade package for Gordon until 22 Free Agency. If enough of those stars are still available, his contract is perfect as a non-guaranteed 22-23 portion of a sign and trade deal.

However, I'm not sure how we get a few of those bronze/silver/gold level stars to want to come here.

    Eric Gordon x Aron Baynes

They need some offensive replacement from somewhere.

I'm not sure the Rockets can lure a big man in free agency.
How ready are the bigs that we may be drafting?
ditto on bigs brought in after the draft as Undrafted FA's

#Cade or Jalen Green are not coming to the Rockets to intentionally
tank. They will be trying to win and make an All Star game in year 1.

We need to then move Augustin, House, Bradley, Nwaba (SnT), Exum (SnT)...
    or move them first.

He played 73 games in last 2 seasons. with $60m salary due for the next 3 season, I think rockets will most likely need to give up assets and picks for any trade involving him.

Gordon and Augustin to the Bulls for Aminu and Satoransky (both expiring) + 2nd this year (40th)

Gordon to the Mavs for Josh Richardson and Cauley + future 2nd

Gordon and Wood to Golden State for Wiggins and Wiseman

It's bad, but not that bad. He's owed $37.8M combined over the next 2 seasons: $18.2M this upcoming season, and $19.6M the following season.
NO ONE is picking up the non-guaranteed year at over $20M in '23-'24.

Honestly it's more likely he gets bought out in his last season like what happened to Griffin and Drummond. Many the teams that could use him are asset poor (Mavs, Clippers, Lakers, etc) and the Rockets have to give up attach valuable assets (possible considering the last couple of seasons) or take back an even crappier contract (which I prefer not as long as Wall is still here).

It's early in free agency and Lowry has already told Philly he'd give them a discount (MLE? S&T?) to sign there. He'd like to finish his career at his home town under this hypothetical.

    Rockets Out:
    Eric Gordon
    CWood
    DJ Augustine
    Avery Bradley (Team option; S&T?)
    Bucks 2021 FRP
    Portland 2021 FRP

    Rockets In:
    James Wiseman
    Tyrese Maxey
    Andrew Wiggins
    GSW 2021 FRP

Rockets give up CWood knowing that he is going to want a bigger contract that will be too early in their rebuild process and essentially cashing in on CWood being ready now to help a team like GSW. Adding Wiseman, Maxey, and a 2021 FRP for the cost of losing Wood and taking on Wiggins remaining 2 years.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------

    Philly Out:
    Tyrese Maxey
    Ben Simmons

    Philly In:
    Draymond Green
    Eric Gordon
    DJ Augustine
    Bucks 2021 FRP

    + Sign Lowry

Philly is TOUGH now. They no longer need to worry about Ben becoming a liability in the 4th quarter of playoffs. They know what they are going to get with Draymond and Lowry. I doubt Morey would give up Maxey.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------

    GSW Out:
    James Wiseman
    Draymond Green
    2021 FRP

    GSW In:
    Ben Simmons
    CWood
    Avery Bradley

Essentially the former GSW pre-Durant, but with a better version of Draymond in Ben Simmons + a stretch 5 (Wood) that can take you off the dribble and help weakside at the rim. Simmons would have Steph/Klay/Wood around him to knock down shots and will not need the ball in crunch time. He'd be the best he's ever been.

Will Rockets deal with Morey? Do we care if we help GSW now to better our future? Who knows... I was bored

I would prefer to keep him if he's OK with it. A mixture of vets with youngsters complements the latter and favors their progress with winning habits. You can even grow with bad habits but in the end they limit your potential, although often that's seen years later with elite opposition at advanced playoffs rounds... And then is late to change a player's dynamics.

That said, if he wants to leave, so be it. No one who wants to leave can be a positive influence. But you need proper vets along the youngsters, whoever they are, to create actual championship habits from the base. (liiike Chris Paul for instance)

Why? We’re in the beginning of a rebuild?

Two max contracts for guys who have already peaked is not a good direction.

Wall and Gordon For Harris Or Simmons but not both of those overpaid players
