I think both players are really underrated and would do wonders for our team. As long as we keep yao ming, I'd do whatever I can to get those 2 players. Marko Jaric will be a FA, but I'm not sure if Sterling will pick up his qualifing offer. I hope we can sign him too for relatively cheap.
How to get troy murphy? Houston trades: PG Steve Francis PF Maurice Taylor SG Adrian Griffin PF Scott Padgett PG Mike Wilks Golden State trades: SF Calbert Cheaney PF Troy Murphy PG Speedy Claxton PF Clifford Robinson C Adonal foyle PG Avery Johnson protected 1st rounder why? houston- gets rid of francis and mo's huge contracts and the useless griffin Gets- cheaney = griffin + shot - a little defense Troy Murphy = a true pf next to yao, can hit the open jumper and rebound, a good double double guy Claxton - a sparkplug pg, downgrade from francis but still not horrible at pg Clifford - more pf/sf depth, can hit 3 and defend, veteran Foyle- backup center for yao, good shot blocker avery- leader, backup backup pg. 1st round pick top 20 protected for the next 2 yrs then lotto protected for 1 yr then top 3 protected then unprotected could come in handy sometime since we like dealing 1st rounders out, we finally get one Why for GS? Rebuilding w/ a new pg in francis gives them an exciting young group of players w/ francis, richardson, pietrus, dunleavy mo taylor can score for them gets rid of foyle who would leave anyway, and gets rid of extra parts lineup claxton/jackson/avery mobley/jj/cheaney/pike jj/nachbar/cliff/cheaney murphy/cato/cliff yao/foyle/cato Gs francis/van exel/wilks richardson/ pietrus/ francis dunleavy/cardinal/pietrus mo/popeye jones dampier/ eschmeyer
What is Seattle's plan? Rumors have them willing (wanting?) to move Lewis. He is expensive. Seattle wants to move Booth. Sonics may want to move Allen. Unless and until Seattle's motivations are clear(er) Lewis' availability is in the air. If they want to move him, Rox are a reasonable destination. I just don't understand why Warriors would move Murphy unless it helps them control salaries by moving others (Van Exel?).
Yes, but then you have nothing to offer Seattle for Rashard. How about Francis and part of the TE for Dampier and Troy Murphy? Then we turn around and trade Dampier and the rest of the TE to the Sonics for Rashard Lewis and Antonio Daniels? Yao/Cato Murphy/Cato/MoT Rashard/JJ/Boki JJ/Mobley/Pike Daniels I suggest we send MoT to the Celtics for Yogi Stewart and Chris Mihm, whose contracts are expiring soon. This would reduce help keep our cap under control for the future, while bringing in a solid bench PF/C (Mihm). I also suggest we use our MLE on bringing in a PG, maybe Damon Jones or Rafer Alston or someone like that. Negatives for this team: Having Troy Murphy and Rashard lewis at your F spots exposes Yao in the defensive end. these guys are not good defensive players, although they are both terriffic rebounders, and lack shotblocking skills or toughness. It helps that Cato and JJ would be backing them up, but it would help even more to butch this team up, maybe by trading MoT and Mobley for Lynch and PJ Brown? Mobley is better than Lynch, and PJ is better than Mo, the Hornets get younger, we get tougher. Yao/Cato Murphy/PJ/Cato Rashard/Lynch/Boki JJ/Pike Daniels/FA signing Wow. That was fun. Now, back to reality...
Can we get Rasheed Wallace? PLEASE!!! Troy Murphy, Rashard Lewis, Al Harrington..Elton Brand they'd all be nice
Troy Murphy would be a good fit, has a knack for rebounding and is a pretty damn good shooter, but isnt anywhere as good as cato on the defense and intimidation. There is pretty much no way we are going to get dampier since he will for sure 100% opt out of his contract and probably sign with an eastern conference team, probably Indiana his hometown. He would be my primary choice as free agent, but it appears he likes detroit and detroit appears to be wavering over signing either rasheed or Okur since both will be worth maybe 6-7 million a year. Maybe a 2nd round exit will convince rasheed to bolt and join his good friend mobley in houston, for the MLE or we could use the trade exception with a first rounder.
That GS-Hou deal is terrible. But getting Lewis is one of my offseason wishes. Xiki- I've read that Seattle is willing to part with Lewis if they can get a true PF. They mentioned getting guys like Chandler and K. Brown, and would be willing to trade Rashard for them. I wonder if a Cat/MoT/part of TE could net us Lewis and Booth, we don't need Booth, but that makes Cato more expendable.
I heard that if Chicago is willing to trade Eddie Curry, Seattle will give up Lewis. I think if the rockets can trade Francis for Murphy, Pietrius (sp?), and a pick + garbage...Chicago might be willing to part Curry for Pietrius + pick and something else.
that's what i don't get though...like if they trade rashard...and dont' resign brent barry...they seriously think they can contend in the west with flip/ray/rad/booth/collison? i mean...that's a pretty good shooting team but they're not really going to contend much IMHO. i would imagine they'd like to build around ray and rashard as much as possible...*shrug*....i think the coffee in seattle is making them think stupid things.
I think you need to be updated. The latest news out of the Bulls camp is that the owner and general manager John Paxson sat down with Eddie and told him that they are going to keep him around. Now as for Tyson and Jamal, apparently they may be on the move.
I've also read that, but don't know the level of 'seriousness'. Supposedly Sonics want to move Rado to '3'. Chandler and Brown are paid way less than shard, so any deal would require multiple players. The 'fit' gets tougher, making a deal more improbable.
Rashard would be great because we just need guys who can fill it up. Rashards a nice player and makes it harder to leave our forwards. The guys young still, that's money. We could always slide the ever-dependable Jim Jackson over to 2 for some time.
Houston trades Steve Francis Eric Piatkowski Golden State Trades Erick Dampier Mike Dunleavy Troy Murphy I think Golden State might do it. I'd like to get there first rounder too, but I don't think that will happen. Golden State would have one of the best back court's in the game.(Francis, Richardson, Van Exel, Claxton). Houston would get stonger up front(Murphy and Dampier, also making Taylor or Cato tradable) and future SF or SG with all-star potential in Dunleavy.
I'd love it to happen, but I don't there's ANY way that Golden State does that trade. We only lose Steve Francis (and the whole WORLD knows we're looking to move him) and a bench-warming three-point shooter in Piatkowski. Golden State gives up a great frontcourt presence an awesome rebounder (Dampier), Dunleavy (a double-digit scorer), and Murphy (another double-digit scorer that can create matchup problems with his outside range). I just think they'd be giving up too much considering how much we'd like to trade Francis. But here's hoping, anyways.
I would love to have a marko jaric in rocket uniform next year. He may not be as athletic and exciting as francis, but at least hes 5x smarter than him. He's coachable and cool. I also want a rashard lewis and an eric dampier or a kurt thomas. Then i will get rid of francis, cuttino, griffin, and cato. The problem is i dont know how.
