With what assets though? They ain't got any picks since we own pretty much all of them. Griffin is 32 and this is his last chance to cash in on a big contract. Green's been playing for the minimum for years and is staring at his last opportunity to get paid. Dinwiddie is gonna get offers. And no one will take DeAndre off their hands. Plus they have to extend all three of their stars which will lock them into this roster(or what's left of it after a few free agents defect) for years. This is it for the Nets. And it's not like the East will be any easier next year. They may have had their best shot at a title this season.
This article is just asking for the impossible. Asking Harden to win a championship is one thing, but for Deandre Jordan to be a productive player? This is a bridge too far.
So, how many years before Brooklyn is irrelevant? Does the outcome of the 2021 playoffs spell any kind of directional change for the Nets? Anyone think they will just go home and say to themselves "Maybe Next Year"?
Why are people fixated on hating on Harden when he was clearly playing on one leg? This series adds nothing to what it says about how good or bad he is as a player.
Agreed. This series and year unfortunately is going to be a lost year/opportunity for Harden. Harden has put up great numbers in the regular season and has won a MVP. What he needs more than even a title, is a defining postseason series or moment. He needs that series or game that will be the first highlight of his hall of fame video presentation. He needs that moment, like KD scoring 49 in game 5 or 48 and hitting that game tieing jumper. Giannis, Luka, Trae, have all established legacy building performances this postseason. Dame, Kawhi and KD added to theirs. Harden will have to wait till next year.
Harden quit on the rockets organization and it’s fans in the most unprofessional way in search for an easy championship and I am quite happy that it turned out not to be any easier.
It shouldn't be surprising. Rockets fans hated Pippen and Tmac far more and for less. Of course Harden accomplished much more for the franchise than either also. Then again kD and LeBron and AD was hated for leaving too.
Right. It's unrealistic to expect him to do much more than he did. Frustrating for those of us hoping for legacy-defining moments from him in these playoffs. That's one of the few things I had to look forward to this season. I'm glad he didn't suffer a major injury at least. Hoping to see him come back strong next year (for a different team, if at all possible).
Because the guys have nothing else to do since their team just finished last in the league. Salty and bitter lol I especially loved the comments from the folks that used to hate on Harden while he was on the team. How is the last place finish working out? lol
There is no winning any championship under Tilman haha. Its not hard, its impossible. Harden removed , its a last place team in the entire league. Anyone who actually wants to win a ring, should consider leaving the Rockets. My respect for Harden actually went up for two reasons: 1) He could have stayed in Houston and collected his max checks and kept padding his stats (see Melo in NY). Instead, he was willing to elsewhere to give himself a chance to win. 2) He could have packed it in with the bum hammy, but he came back and gave what he could. Both show he cares about winning, unlike Tilman who cares about savings. Moving forward, he still has a much better chance of getting a ring than Tilman getting one haha.
have you been on this forum over the years. Their was a “trade harden” thread in the GARM longer than the Great Wall of China that was never locked. Rockets fans quit on harden first and then when they got what they wanted they pouted because they sucked without him. Don’t make me bump that thread when harden was traded their was a lot of people in garm happy at the time
If the guy was unwilling to spend and improve a historic team that had come off the best record in the league and one of the best in the history of the NBA, good luck getting him to spend otherwise. All his moves have been about savings. He was gifted the best team in the league and in just over 3 years he has reduced it to last team in the league with the GM, coach, and his best players gone. There is nothing left from that historic team, except Tilman He is laughed at now as one of the worst owners in sports. You should have stopped reading earlier because you are in denial. no logical merit lol
Going to be an interesting next couple of years. If the big 3 is healthy they can easily win a title. If Irving was healthy they would have won it all no question in my mind. However with their age and injury history it just isn’t likely. What’s more concerning is Harden was always an Ironman and now he’s beginning to have nagging injuries and the miles might begin to show. If James becomes as snakebite as KD and Kyrie the Nets won’t win a chip. It’s like the second season with Dream, Clyde, and Barkley. Always 1 or 2 of them were out with injuries.
there’s so many cognitive biases in your anti-tilman POV but foremost is your belief that based on his four years as an owner it’s “impossible” for the rockets to ever win a championship, haha
