Gonna have to go with Taco Bell....who can resist grade F beef piled with artificial toppings. Can't beat it =) Honestly i have to think about what restaraunt i really like. Guess it depends on what mood i am in.
Kanomwan. The Thai Nazi loves me. I love that place...on an early visit, my mom asked what they had for dessert...The Thai Nazi gave her a stick of gum.
The funny thing is that "Kanomwan" means "sweets" in Thai. I think he used to have just a bakery making Thai desserts, but it wasn't as well received as the food, so he switched over to restaurant. Friday night he had home made coconut icecream.
I never eat the meats, probably never will. I just eat the sushi at the bar. I don't know how much better a peice of octopus can be. Have you been to the one in Kemah? They say it completely different from the other one.
Yeah, Kemah is the only one I've been to....I didn't even know there was another one. If I was going there just for the sushi, then I could understand you not thinking it is that bad. The hibachi meats are the thing that really turned me off....even they're vegetables and ginger sauce don't quite taste right.
I like Freebirds better than Chipotle. Both are good places, but if I have time to get away from campus long enough to get to Freebirds, I'd rather go there than pile into Chipotle along with everyone else from UT during lunch hour. Fajita Willies is also great, but I haven't been there in a long while. Carl's BBQ is awesome, but Rudy's BBQ is way better IMO - too bad there's not one in Houston though.
is that the Aldo's in san antonio? if so, that place is great. one of my dad's real good/old friends owns it, so whenever the old man is in town, we hit that place up - for free. haven't been in awhile though.
Chipotle is not good. I ate there to try and satisfy my crazing for Freebirds before I found out there was a location downtown. The white rice is horrible. And no refried beans either, it doesn't compare to Freebirds.
I agree. Chipotle was not good the one time I went. From what I remember they charged extra for every little thing and it pissed me off.
My buddy was raving about Chipotle for like three weeks and when I finally tried it it still didn't compare to Freebirds. I've taken trips from Salt Lake to Dallas just for Freebirds before (and planning on doing it again soon ) DAMN, I love Freebirds.
I've eaten at Freebird's, Chipotle, and Mission Burrito. Freebirds beats 'em all, hands down. Chipotle doesn't offer a cayenne pepper tortilla, Freebirds does. And if you want refried beans in your burrito, Freebirds has 'em. Chipotle doesn't. Freebirds just has more and better options for you to make your burrito. I get a regular steak on cayenne tortilla with cheese, rice, refried beans, pico and death sauce. Awesome. -- droxford
Didn't there used to be an Aldo's on 59? It wasn't that expensive at all years ago. Great pizza. Same one?
Houston Area: Original Question: Freebirds, then Mission, then Chipotle. However, I can easily eat all three. Pizza: Late Night Pie Mexican: El Rey, Chuy's, La Tapatia Wings: BW3 (I had to drive all the way out to Kingwood and Westheimer to have some last week) Chain: Outback Sports Bar: BW3 and Live Sports Cafe (when Stack gives me my own free parking spot, BW3 will be dropped from the list ) Breakfast: West Gray Cafe and 59 Diner They really need a Steak and Shake down here. Great place.
Used to be the best, IMO, but have been taken over by the buffet at NASA Road 1 and El Camino. They have this Pepper Chicken that just ROCKS. Roasted cashews on the dessert table, too. My wife likes the sushi selection at Oriental Gourmet, though. #2 Los Rameriz in Clear Lake - Flameato, gorditas, chimichangas, oh my![/B][/QUOTE] This place is f##king amazing. Incredible food at very nice prices. You get $5 off coupons just about every time you shop at the new Kroger. My favorite fancy/nice/expensive restaurant is Perry's Steakhouse. Their three peppercorn filet is amazing and the fried asparagus (topped with lump crab meat) makes my mouth water just thinking about it. Get the chocolate dipped strawberries for dessert. You and I must live in the same neck of the woods, Meowgi. Camino South here.
no kidding!! i used to eat at one near Memorial and Dairy Ashford when i was VERY young. but now i only eat at them when in florida or arkansas. are there any in texas?
I loved Babin's over in Kemah it was great!!! They closed the Steak & Shake in my hometown (Jonesboro, AR) a few months ago. I'd have to say it was a ripoff except for the milkshakes.
