They are hemorrhaging money and been trying to sell for a while with no luck. This is a hail mary that won't work obviously.

Why? Unrealistic beauty vs. Real women of all types? We are not talking items for men to look at, but for real woman for wear.

It won't work because Victoria's Secret has two problems to solve and not just one.

Problem one is that L Brands built its empire around the shopping mall which is experiencing declining traffic due to online. A rebrand won't solve that fundamental issue and they know it - that's why they are trying to spin VS off as an independent company.

The second problem is that consumer choice and culture has changed. Millennials don't buy into buying things because they are sexy, but rather the quality and functionality - so they gravitate towards Lululemon versus VS - and VS has never been associated with comfort or quality, but rather style.

So it's increasing competition from online where woman's underwear brands are popping up, and a shift in consumer preferences. VS is in trouble. Will they survive? Probably in some form or fashion. But the hypersexualization is of a bygone era - that doesn't appeal as much to women shoppers today.

VS probably still has a following. But it's a brand in decline.

Younger women are more Fenty. It has a better image than a brand associated with Epstein. There is also more brands out there.

Also lingerie as a market has shrunk as convenient sports bras have become more daily wear over the push up bra.

VS has also struggled to go online. Which is something the pandemic has accelerated. Also online has made it easier for more competitor's to emerge without the overhead of shopping malls.

So inheritly there is more competition today & the market has shrunk. IE VS has a smaller percentage of a smaller market.

Pink is struggling - they are declining in sales as well, and the hitch to VS isn't helping. The problem for Pink is again, shifting consumer choice. They are espousing cheap Pink underwear for more athleisure wear.

Lane Bryant is Performing GREAT. Why? More women will shop at that store for real needs vs. the fantasy of VS. Same for the Old Navy, Amazon, Gap...etc. There will always be trendy stores (B&M and Online), But as Women become Wives and Mothers...practicality becomes the driving force.

I don't even know anything about what Lane Bryant is. I guess girls that might be a fantasy to you weren't to me. My wife is an ex Maxim "Hometown hottie". Now that means **** all in the grand scheme of things but I don't like or care for fat chicks. They're gross to me. Maybe your reality is different from mine and that's cool. Anyways, war Charlo and we're hoping to enjoy this win. Hopefully you don't get crushed "hogging " lol

WE ARE TALKING ABOUT YOUR TASTE. Most women and girls are size 10 and above. Wait til your wife pushes out 3 or 4 kids. She won't be a "Maxim Hometown Hottie" that you married, body-wise. Women gain weight, so I hope you married her for other reasons.
