Imagine some of those guys with modern training, nutrition and medicine.

Mickey Mantle's knees, Sandy Koufax's elbow, etc....

I'm going to the game! Last time I went we won 11-2 over the Red Sox. I'll take a repeat of that

Up this morning to good news about the Astros Walkoff on an Alvarez Double that could have been a Triple.

Interesting comments about Glenn Davis. A high school buddy was a neighbor of Glenn's in Richmond and loved telling me about get togethers. But his wife, also an old friend from church, was pretty, but crazy. I never got an invitation to his house.

Anyway, Glenn would have had quite a few more homers in today's stadiums than the Dome where long, well hit balls went to die. That's why the balls hit by Staub and Wynn were so impressive.

It makes you wonder...why he hung a slider when they're starting to crack down on illegal sticky grip...

Hey! This blame game can be fun...

Didn't look like a hung slider me, looked down and away and Yordon just went and got it.

You're probably right. But I need to look again because I thought it was down and in golf shot style.

Yep. Down and in moving back over the plate. But definitely not HUNG. I do wish we could advance video by one frame at a time. I had to stop the replay 20 times to get it to freeze exactly where I wanted it.

The color commentator sounds like someone you’d hear on a D-II college sports webcast. Surprised Chicago can’t find a better analyst.

The As are better than they are getting credit for here. Hat tip, indeed.

Still, the As want no part of the Houston Astros in the post season.

Sandy Koufax in particular was a monster, before he got hurt.

We own them now. 7-3 I think it is.

    On another note,
Aaron Boone gets fired before the year is out.

    Astros vs Division leaders

    2-1 TBR 43-28
    5-2 BOS 42-28
    7-3 OAK 44-27
    2-0 CHW 43-27
    1-1 LAD 42-27

The good teams aren't the problem.

Once again a team loses to the Astros because they can't score, and blames sign stealing.

If they didn't care about their image, why fire Taubman, Hinch and Lunhow in the first place? Why hire a likeable 100-year-old Dusty Baker over a younger, more modern manager?

You're kidding yourself if you think image isn't important to professional sports teams. That was a huge part of Lunhow's downfall; he didn't care what people said.

And caring about your image and not signing pieces of **** like Osuna doesn't mean you aren't still trying to win. You can sign good players without adding domestic abusers to the roster. Given that it's 2021, not the 1920s, I think that's a fairly reasonable line to draw. I would rather the Astros bullpen struggle than add someone like that, and I would hope the Astros learned their lesson on that as well.

There 100% is a double standard in MLB. The Yankees, Dodgers and Red Sox can get away with things that teams like the Astros can't. I'm not saying it's fair. That's just the reality of the situation.

But if the Yankees want to sign domestic abusers, I say let 'em. I don't want to have guys like that on the roster, even if it helps the Astros win ball games. It's not worth it.
