Great. So you're saying he might not be as good as we thought he was. Yordan is currently Top 4 (4th) among DH's in OPS. Those ahead.... Ohtani provides much more value besides hitting. Vladimir is way the f*** ahead in OPS. And Cruz who's 15 years older. Yes, he's spoiled us. But I still think/hope he can maintain similar career production besides the last month. He's balled out much longer than he's struggled in his career. How much value besides hitting do the other DH's provide?
Why do you feel like it's your right to post random nonsense all of the time? Even when everybody ignores everything you post?
Alvarez put up a 1.067 OPS in 2019. No, I didn't think he would maintain that. You know how many players in MLB have an OPS higher than that this year? 1.... Vlad JR You know how many players had an OPS higher than that in 2019? 2... Yellich and Trout That's not something even very good players maintain year to year.
I keep hearing the echos of the debate over Evan Gattis. Every bad streak and he should be cut outright and every good streak he should be extended for years.
For me, it's not the results/numbers but his approach at the plate that looks markedly different to me this year. He's looking at stuff, and fouling off stuff, right in his happy zone that in the past he has killed. Growing pains, it happens to all of them.
There's a far difference between 1.067 OPS and mid-800's Why are you arguing with me? Are you trolling? Yelich and Trout play defense-centric positions at above-average levels. Yordan mostly watches defense alongside Dusty and Hinch... aka from the dugout. Are you seriously arguing .860 OPS from Yordan is good overall for the Astros? I still believe Alvarez will do better. But right now isn't it
His past is only 89 games before this season. He is a very very elite hitter that also came up from the minors on fire. It was insane. Trout has been in the league for a decade now. He has 3 seasons with an OPS at or above what Alvarez did in 2019. Ken Griffey Jr had ONE season with an OPS at or above what Alvarez did in 2019. Hank Aaron had an OPS that high ONE time. Bagwell only did it ONE time in 94. Arod did it ONE time. Willie Mays did it ONE time. He's also coming off 2 knee surgeries. I think he ends up in the .900s
Has Yordan even played a full season yet? He’s great. He’ll be fine. Also, Rodon on the juice? Heard it here first.
Part of the reason he hasn't 'fulled' is his 20 y/o knees went 40 Stay veinte as long as possible, homie
