    This is fallout from the stupid #SaveOurChildren crap that was trending on social media last year.

    Muddled information from that dumb QAnon hashtag has basically led to millions of people to believe the myths that thousands of children are kidnapped by strangers and sold into trafficking. That's absolutely NOT how trafficking works in the U.S.

    In reality, the vast majority of trafficked people in this country are teen prostitutes living with their pimps who they met at schools, churches, clubs, parties, through friends and online.

    Only about 115 children are kidnapped by strangers each year across the entire U.S. - that averages to less than 3 per state in a year..but if you ask most people, they wrongly believe it's thousands each year.
