+1 … a thought or a prayer, whichever y’all have fewer of… I’d guess that would be the thoughts that are lagging.
Nearly half the states allow concealed carry without any sort of permit. More than half the states allow open carry without a permit. It isn't like allowing concealed carry without a permit has turned Vermont, Maine, New Hampshire, Montana, etc. into dystopian murder nightmares.
Nope it hasn't. It's still a stupid idea. It's not like requiring a license and training ended up in anyone losing their right to guns. I have no problem having people do something similar to driving a car.
It's the opposite direction we should be going for. The gun culture should be embracing gun ownership responsibility instead of going the opposite way.
I was using this list: List of Constitutional Carry States for Concealed Carry and Open Carry which shows 20 states that have permitless concealed carry (though one doesn't take effect until July 1). I consider 20 nearly half of 50. 40%, 5 states shy of half. Texas would make 21. Wikipedia also puts it at 21 with Texas. Constitutional carry - Wikipedia The site you provided includes 19 of those twenty, with Iowa excluded (the one that takes effect on July 1). Two of the states limit permitless carry to residents of the state, which is at the link you provided, but you omitted from your list. So we are talking about the same states. Yeah, I feel pretty comfortable with saying nearly half the states.
I say eliminate Driver's Licensing. Should be a right to drive with no training or test. If one deadly weapon can be had by anyone, so should another.

"I’d be willing to bet that many of you will be among those who stand up and prevent those from proceeding," he said, to a Las Vegas stadium of thousands of socially distanced chairs on June 4. "An overwhelming majority of you will go on to college, while others may decide their dream dictates a different route to success," said Keene. "My advice to you is simple enough: follow your dream and make it a reality." Except, they can't. The students aren't real. James Madison Academy doesn't exist. Without realizing it, Keene was actually addressing his comments to thousands of empty chairs set up to represent the estimated 3,044 kids who should have graduated high school this year and instead were killed by gun violence.
