Donnie was there in the Mavs org (1998), longer than Cuban was owner (2000).

Donnie and his Dad (GM at the time) drafted Dirk.

Under Donnie, they were scouting Luka as young as 14.

Mavs made the playoffs 17 of the last 21 years.

Athletics Tim Cato reported the discontent between Luka and the gambling guy: Haralabos Voulgaris.
Was Donnie one of the leaks? rift between official GM and this shadow GM.

By getting rid of Donnie, who apparently Luka likes, Mavs now have to smooth things out for that future Luka extension.

People can nit pick Donnie maybe didn't get the right pieces surrounding Luka, but if it wasn't for his regime, they would never gotten their center piece in the first place. Only small dip between Dirk era and Luka era.

Mavs has no intention of trading Luka (to anyone), let alone the Rockets. If Rafael Stone, doesn't work out, should keep Donnie's name on the GM candidate list.

To see the Mavs implode, also gives me some petty delight.

DFW resident since 95. Rocket fan since 67. Follow Mavs on the peripheral.

As lousy as TF is as a owner, Cuban is insufferable. He is a media w**** and a poser.

Carlisle lost the ear of this team at end of last year.

Luka is the real deal. Like all greats, the game slows down for them. His supporting cast is mediocre at best. He has the John Wall disease, complaining/b****ing about every call, while his teammates are forced to defend 5 vs 4 on the other end of the court. I fear Wall has infected Wood with this. One of the reasons I would not be opposed to trading Wood. That's for another thread.

News flash. Luka ain't coming to Houston. I seriously doubt he stays with the Mavs. Like the modern day professional athlete, he wants his own brand.
He doesn't want to do Dallas Toyota commercials, he wants to own Toyota. Cuban would have to give him a large chunk of the franchise, that probably won't be enough for Luka to stay in Dallas. He is a much different animal than Dirk.

Being named First Team All NBA makes him eligible for the rookie max extension. 5 years at 200 million. TF just fainted. Luka most likely signs this, but I seriously doubt he plays the duration of that contract as a Mav. The eye will be focused on LA. Lebron will be done in two years, if not sooner. LBJ wants to be a movie dude. The Lakers will get their next marquee superstar. Ever notice how unmarketable Kawhi is. Lukas mom will get more deals in LA than K Leonard ever will.

I wonder if it bothers Luka that Trey Young who the Mavs traded to get Luka- is balling and winning with no better roster than the Mavs have.

Anyway, i'm sure Luka will one day play for another team, but that won't be any time soon. He seems like one of those fake nice/stuck up Euros who only wants to play in the big cities or beach cities. He's used to beautiful Madrid, Spain. Dallas, and Houston are dumpster towns to him.

Lol even if OKC gave all 20 of their 1sts and SGA, Dallas would say no. Don't waste your breath.

Packages that could maybe get Luka:
    Zion and 4 1sts
Brown AND Tatum and 4 1sts
Jah and JJJ and 4 1sts
Trae, Hunter, Bogdanovic, Collins and 4 1sts

    Doncic Wall Bradley Augustin

Trade Augustin or Bradley for a PF. (Finney-Smith thrown in?)

Team fired their version of what some Texans fans would compare to Easterby

I wouldn't hold it against him, majority of the kids or just people in general look for jobs in the big cities or places they may have more fun or have community. People forget they are living life and want to enjoy their short time in the nba because it will never be like this again.

I don't think anyone is blaming Luka for his performance or dallas not coming over. They have a decent team, but have holes, KP still needs to rise up and show he can be a solid no 2. Kid is just getting started

y’all hate Harden, but want Luka who plays the same ball dominant, monster usage style and is already a diva at 22 trying to run the Mavs organization…funny how that works
