What does that phrase mean? trying to hard for what exactly? You brought up the tpp, and asked what do you think the tpp did. Then I am asking you about the merits and flaws and loop holes in it. And then you have one liners. I get thats how the internet works, but you have no knowledge or no issues with the tpp or did you only read an article enough to know what you think you don't know? "A great challenge of life: Knowing enough to think you're doing it right, but not enough to know you're doing it wrong." Niel Tyson You're sort act like Tinman does for tilman, only as a mouthpiece for biden. I don't think hes terrible or great either way, I think like anyone he has made some really bad choices that you have to account for and then obviously you can only go up after trump. Yet like tinman refuse to acknowledge or just deflect on almost any question about biden, yet refuse anytime to go into detail so then whats teh point outside of paying internet contrarian
DOJ is under the executive branch. And he DOES have a majority in the senate. I understand he can't magic things into existence. I also understand if he doesn't deliver on some of this stuff, Democrats will get wiped in the midterms. He/they won't be graded on a curve.
There's an entire Twitter page devoted to the OP's type of rant. Biden Voters Posting Their L's Online https://twitter.com/bidenls?lang=en
Biden is not a cure all to your concerns. I dislike him but common man. Even I see that he can't have his way on everything. The presidency is not a monarchy. I wouldn't want any president to automatically have his way with everything he wants on his agenda. That disenfranchises a whole swath of the country. Of course if you're mad because he didn't deliver on his campaign promises, you should go see which presidents in the past actually lived up to theirs. Very few. Really you should be mad at yourself for actually believing him.
I think Biden is doing exactly what he said he'd do and frankly his COVID response has been the only thing that matters to me. For whatever reason, our Presidents only seem to have one or two landmark domestic changes during their term. Bush had Patriot Act and Medicare Part D, Obama had Affordable Care Act, Trump had Tax Reform, and Biden has had COVID relief and potentially a major infrastructure bill.
I guess the real question at this point is who will OP vote for in the next election? if not the incumbent, who?
It’s just the reality of how difficult it is to do anything in a divided government, high partisanship and with filibuster in place. If the American people want more “progress” and movement by fed government, one place to start is to get rid of the filibuster.
Yea, and as I type that I also realize that the American people do NOT get fair representation and so it will not likely happen even if American want more progress.
Thats a good question actually. Kind of brings up the point of the thread in the first place and if the OP didn’t actually vote for him in the first place and is just trying to troll, or gauge the temperature on a softening of Democrat support. If you want to elicit real responses tell us why the alternative (which right now is 99% Trump) is better for the country. I think Biden is doing exactly what he said he would, and the fact that he is still holding out hope in bipartisan support for infrastructure tells you all you need to know about how much he cares about making good on his promises. Even if he offered to build a high speed rail from DC to West Virginia I dont think Joe Manchin would move on his insistent on keeping the filibuster and HR1.
His point may not be artfully made but it's largely true of the Democratic party as a whole. They really don't do **** unless they are pushed. Put even the most minor obstacle in their way and they quit. "Oh noes! the Senate parliamentarian said we couldn't! Shucks ". Meanwhile when Republicans encounter a Constitutional roadblock... Spoiler
Just being “not Trump” is a pretty low standard. How about fixing some of the terribly broken aspects of our country... education... health... defense spending/military industrial complex... substantive gun reform... or are we just going to keep passing these problems along forever?
That's fair criticism for sure, @DonnyMost . The examples he points out though are inherent in a system with judicial review. We don't have an autocracy. Not yet, anyway.
