Sixers are going to be a problem for every team left in the playoffs if embid stay healthy. They aren't the favorites, but no team can contain embid without doubleing him in the paint. Dude is just a beast on both ends of the floor.
The only thing is his passing. I honestly dont think his passing is good enough for him to be completely unstoppable.
Think the announcer misspoke, maybe he was referring to Embid's past injury. It sounded like Embide just hurt his knee, which doesn't look to be the case. I raised my eyebrow too when I heard the play-by-play guy.
I still don't understand why they didn't trade for Lowry. Perhaps the raptors wanted more than Maxine, green and a pick. I'd have PHI as the favorite if they had Lowry. He does everything they need, playmaking shooting and even more defense.
oh damn just tuned in to see Hawks getting decimated. unfortunate. As a former Morey apologist, I'm rooting against Morey, lol.
If I was Doc, I'd take Embid out after the nasty fall so he rests a bit. So Simmons on Trae is a good move from a 76ers perspective. But I wonder why ATL don't do counters. When Trae passes the ball out, it rarely comes back to him, why not do some off ball, for a catch n' shoot. Set a double screen for Trae, do more to set him free from Simmons.
hate to see a team that’s finally getting a little bit of buzz in the city come out and get blown off the floor at home, especially since the fandom is so fickle and casual down there in Atlanta
reading all these comments, not sure why people are so confused. ATL isn't very good. NY was a better team by a lot of metrics, but Young was the best player on the court. He's nowhere close to Embiid though. These new age, high-volume point guards are flashy, put up a ton of points, are great for SC highlights, but you aren't winning **** with Trae Young or Damian Lillard as your best player. I said it before. PHI in 5. yawn.
