Thought he was a goner for sure, incredibly fortunate to come back after 20+min of cpr. Great job by the first respondent players and medical staff.
****ing scary. Why do you think this happened? Heat exhaustion leading to a heart attack? Or a pre existing heart condition? Makes me want to avoid ever playing a sport again outside in high heat and makes me want to check my heart out as well at a doctor or something
It is on obviously a hear attack. Really sad to see. I saw the highlights and he seemed to be struggling before he was hit. There should be unlimited substitutions and a player wouldn't feel the pressure to play through stuff unnecessarily.
The emergency workers pumped on his chest for so long, I'm an arsenal fan but the sight of his wife breaking down on the sideline having to watch that had me in tears. Seeing this report that he's stable is great news, prayers he makes a full recovery
Definitely not related to temperatures, it was mild around 20 degrees in Copenhagen this afternoon. Restarting the match is wrong on so many levels. EDIT: Apparently both teams want to play.
So honestly this was the first thought that came to my mind after the crisis was over. My uncle dropped dead after getting his, we have a work associate that had the same fate
Both a friend of mine (38, physically fit football player) and I have had resting heart rates and chest pain around the heart since the first jab.
A colleague of my dad died of the same this week, it's scary how underreported this is. I know that the benefits outweigh the risks vastly for the covid vaccination, but they really can't continue to sweep this under the rug.
The benefits outweigh the risks maybe for someone like my uncle and you deal with tragedy when there are side effects if you know the vast majority of time it's better. A 29 year old professional athlete that has zero chance of dying from Covid should never take a vaccine that is still in emergency use with very little data
Maybe y’all can refrain from making unsubstantiated guesses about what happened. This is something that’s happened on the professional level many times. Remember Hank Gathers? All thanks to the amazing job the on-site medics did to save his life. Not sure if we’ll ever know for sure but he was likely dead for sometime on that field. And they brought him back. I went back and watched the 10 min leading up to that and couldn’t see any sign something like that was going to happen. I realize both teams agreed and wanted to finish it out. Did it have to be today? Maybe give them 24 hrs to shake it off.
The problem is you can't really tell how different body types are reacting to the same vaccine. If fever and chills are the most common side effects, then people are still going to risk it.
