Ok, DoD, I got mIRC loaded. Under options, there is the firewall options. There is a checkbox (unchecked) for Use SOCKS Firewall, then Protocol SOCKS 4 OR SOCKS 5 THEN Hostname User id Password Port, which is filled in "1080" then a check box (unchecked) for "Use DCC's through firewall" Now what?? ------------------ Beware the blank post! Behad, Go to www.mirc.com and download the latest version (should be 5.91 I think). That one will give you an option to cut through a proxy firewall as well. All this may be moot now that I think about it, because you need access through the firewall (user id, pword, etc.). And for that I think you need to beg your admins. The weird part about the chat crash was when the text, which was supposed to say eddie eddie, was misspelled and color coded in such a way that it read diediediedie. That was kinda freaky.
