I agree with Skip and Sharpe to an extent.

Skip: it's college level (Cade, Suggs, Mobley) facing a lot of zone and
playing zone defensively. I've always heard the, "one man stopped MJ in
college," joke, "Dean Smith." Cade will be much better in the NBA.

Especially in the Silas system if we put good 3-point shooters and
slashers/cutters to the rim. Cade to Kenyon could be special.

Sharpe: is he Durant, Zion, MJ, Kobe? No But neither was Magic Johnson,
Jason Kidd, Grant Hill. They were outstanding in the NBA and made everyone
better around them. Cade has elements of Jason Kidd, Magic Johnson,
Grant Hill and Ben Simmons that will make him very good & a sound player
in the NBA. Elevate and accentuate the positives of those around him.

I remember when LeBron came into the league, was passing the ball
a great deal and getting criticized for passing too much. I watched
LeBron spend most of the first half passing the ball and trying to
get his teammates involved. I see the same in Cade; watched a few
of his games and saw Cade spending the entire first half trying to
get his teammates involved. Become more selfish in the second half.

Thank you for the clip Coach

The Rockets need talent. While it certainly would be tremendously better to get a potential superstar like Cade, Green or Mobley they cant turn their noses up at a guy that, while not a franchise player, is still better than just about anything they have on the roster currently. If they end up at 4 and have guys like Suggs, Barnes and Kuminga rated equally then, sure, trade down and pick up an extra asset. But if they turn away talent because they aren't top shelf talent then I think that is a mistake.

Having the 2nd pick would create an interesting dilemma, but I just can't get behind having 2/3 core pieces being C/PFs in the modern game. There are too many situations/matchups which demand 4 perimeter players on the floor -- even if your two bigs are skilled/mobile like Mobley and Wood.

He has the same concerns I do with Jalen Green. His shooting is suspect. Jumps too high that it resembles Westbrook

Depends on how you feel about KPJ and KMJ. I’m bullish on both. KPJ could be Harden lite and KMJ could really become an elite 3 if he continues to improve his shot. Hell KMJ could even be an incredible tough matchup SG (again if he develops his 3pt shot. He really improved quickly with playing time). If we miss out on Cade and got Mobley this is a pretty exciting way to go into next season:

    KPJ
    KMJ
    Tate
    Wood
    Mobley

    Wall
    Gordan
DJ Wilson (who I think could be a solid backup)
    Nwaba
    House (if not traded)
    Rookie (22 pick)
    Rookie (23 pick)

Or trade up with 22/23 for even better option like Kispert.

Maybe you keep Olynkk. This lineup totally screws the tank next year as we would definitely be in the mix for the playoffs.

Are you saying you'd pass on Chet Holmgren or Paolo Banchero in the next draft then?

Cade and Mobley are BPA if Rockets luck into top 2 pick.

Interesting that Cade could end up being the only non-big #1 overall Rockets pick.

I’m on record agreeing that Cade and possibly Suggs offer the possibility of an accelerated timeline where I would even consider adding a first to dump Wall’s contract. However there’s no circumstance where the Rockets should make a run for the playoffs next year. Cade isn’t Tim Duncan; if the Rockets get him they should still tank.

Ok I’m back on the Mobley train...sending Hakeem for the lotto and every rocket first pick overall has been a big man.

Might sell high on wood next year then...especially if he thinks he’s getting the max..

Something about Mobley two way potential

But I would love a twin tower from the rockets

    Wood and Mobley
