republicans in GA are doing away from polls on Sundays because Democrats have done a good job increasing turnout with "souls to the polls"

Has anyone explained how curbside voting and providing water and snacks to people waiting to vote leads to more voter fraud?

I confess, in 2018 I went to cast my vote for Ted Cruz, but I was so thirsty waiting in line. A dude told me he'd give me water if I'd promise to vote for Beto. I didn't want to, but I could see no other way to save myself. So, I promised. And the water was so good. Ten minutes later I got into the voting booth, and I thought 'no one can see how I vote!' But, I knew I had promised. Even under duress, I have to keep my promises. So, I held my nose and cast my vote for Beto. Imagine if he had won! And all because that guy with the foresight to bring water had us all by the short hairs!

The only ones cheating are the GOP, and they think everyone is....so they try to find ways to stop what they are doing...already.

I understand that Republicans believe that the easier it is vote that it will costs them. That very well may be true but given that much of their base is elderly and rural these laws may very well backfire against them. Mail-in ballots have benefitted elderly and rural voting along with early voting so the more they restrict those they will end up restricting a parts of their base.

While these laws do also harm urban poor areas that are mostly minorities they seem to do the less harm to suburban districts. The problem for Republicans is that those districts are far more purple than they are red and Democrats have been doing well in recent elections.

Republicans are desperate and will continue to try to fix elections to their favor using whatever means they can. This isn't about god on Sundays or voter fraud, it's about Republicans being a minority of the population needing to maintain power.

When Biden Unites the Country to Confront a Mortal Threat – Sort Of

    https://www.allsides.com/blog/when-biden-unites-country-confront-mortal-threat-sort

    excerpt:

President Joe Biden spoke at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia this week, where he called the debate over voting rights “the most significant test of our democracy since the Civil war.” The next day he went to Capitol Hill for his first closed-door session with Senate Democrats to rally them in support of his legislative goals on… infrastructure.

This isn’t intended to minimize the importance of the multi-trillion dollar plan that Biden has fashioned to move the country toward economic recovery, and certainly a president can and should have more than one policy priority for which he advocates. But in addition to infrastructure, Biden has allies who would argue that climate change, immigration, police reform, health care, education policy and the coronavirus are all top tier goals for this administration. Which creates a very crowded agenda and an equally complicated messaging challenge, the combination of will make it much more difficult for him to mobilize the country toward action on rules for voting and voter registration.

The question is whether Biden does actually consider voting rights legislation to be an existential matter for our democracy, or whether he is simply pacifying those voices in his party who do believe that voting reform rises to that level of consequence. Comparing a nation’s challenge to the Civil War is pretty big stuff, and it would logically follow that a president would spare no effort to move us toward wartime footing. But while Biden has raised the volume on this issue in recent days, there’s little evidence that the president and his administration are willing to take the necessary steps to accomplish that goal.
