As probably the #1 Rush fanatic in the Clutch BBS, I'm glad I didn't have to post this myself and someone else is in the know.
It seemed like they started experimenting with a new direction with Promised Land and Hear in the Now Frontier...seems like it was due to the increased tensions between DeGarmo and Tate since DeGarmo left after HITNF... If ya ask me...I think DeGarmo was responsible for the harder elements of the earlier albums...and without him Tate was able to indulge his softer, operaetic aspirations. but that is IMHO of course...who really knows why? I do fully agree with you...they havent been the same since Empire. a real shame...they were a awesome prog rock band.
Great choices! But you forgot... The Elevators were mind-blowing live. Saw them many times at the Love Street Light Circus at Allen's Landing.
Dude, that is one of my all time favorite albums...i can listen to it from start to finish anytime. others: Boyz II Men - II Boyz II Men - Cooleyhighharmony (the origin of AlexVanderpool) 112 - Part 3 NIN - Downward Spiral TLC - Crazy Sexy Cool Linkin Park - All Albums Puff Daddy & the fam - No Way Out No Doubt - Tragic Kingdom
Great list 2K I agree with most of them. I just posted the first ones that came to mind. Hell, I could've posted a hue jass list, but what purpose would that serve? DeGarmo was a huge part of Queensryche's success. When he left they really weren't Queensryche anymore, they became just another band. A friend of mine said DeGarmo is back with them, is this true? If so, hopefully they can become the band they once were.
Queensryche News If he returned to record a new album with the band, then it would seem logical he may tour. But, who knows? Kelly Gray, who took over for him when he left, may still be filling his shoes on the road and in the band outside the studio.
Forgot about those two. It's impossible to not like any song with the late great RR on guitar....except those Quiet Riot songs
Rolling Stones - Sticky Fingers Jane's Addiction - Nothing Shocking Metallica - Kill 'Em All thru ...And Justice For All
Exactly....I like Randy's playing so much I even got ahold of the two QR imports withj him playing...notice they didnt make the list?...they had some decent songs....but Randy was still learning on those albums. He didnt truely shine till he teamed up with Ozz. RIP RR Finn*.. I heard the same a few months back...and upon checking the website...it appears he is...under the band section...he is listed there instead of Mike Stone(who replaced Kelly Grey)... I found this in a interview with Tate tho..http://www.chicagoinnerview.com/archives/apr04_queensryche.htm and from http://www.ytsejam.com/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=1216&mode=&order=0&thold=0 both of these interviews are recent...pluggin the new dvd they are releasing this month. so who knows...I wish they would rejoin...I agree with you that DeGArmo was very important to the 'good' Queensryche.
hmm... already saw a few of these listed, but ones that immediately come to mind are: Nine Inch Nails - The Fragile Nine Inch Nails - Pretty Hate Machine Nirvana - Nevermind Portishead - Dummy Portishead - Portishead Depeche Mode - Violator Sneaker Pimps - Becoming X Charlatans UK - Between 10th and 11th Massive Attack - Mezzanine Ministry - Psalm 69
DeGarmo apparently played on "Tribe", but what I heard of it wasn't that good at all. I actually really liked "Hear in the Now Frontier". "Q2K" I listened to maybe a couple of times. Anyone have the Mindcrime remaster? Worth getting?
