Mobley has really good footwork and timing on defense. Does Hakeem still work for the Rockets or did Tilly run him off as well?
With John Wall on the roster and likely unmovable and with KPj likely solidified as getting major run-i don't see how they select Suggs with Mobley on the board still. A Mobley/Wood starting front court would be far better than drafting Suggs to likely come off the bench unless we think Suggs jumps right in to start with Wall and KPj moves to 3? I guess Suggs is big enough at 6'4 to play the 2 but were so undersized at the 3.
in that Draft, Mobley was already taken at #2 ahead of the Rockets pick. However, Jaylan Green was available, who I would have taken over Suggs. I did not like trading #23 & #24 for #18. I would rather have kept Springer and Bassey instead of drafting Ziaire Williams at #18. otherwise, good analysis.
It would be a mistake to consider any of the current players on the roster in this draft. Take the BPA and figure it out. We need to be generating assets. FWIW I think Mobley is a better prospect than Suggs.
Cade - Mobley - Green - Kuminga - Suggs is now my order. I think Kuminga will take longer to pay off than the others (certainly longer than Suggs) but I think he has serious potential as a 3/4 combo. I think he can be dynamic as the roll man and in transition in year 1.
I mean...if we end up #4 and were not high on Suggs at all, it wouldn't be much of a reach to pick between Kuminga and Barnes at 4 and both fit right into our team. We probably also suck enough to be in the running for the top pick next year too.
Hope OKC, DET or MIN want to move up for Suggs/Kuminga. Get their pick for 2022, even if unprotected swap.
Not really. It's just that we have KPJ at the 1. For me if we get anything outside of 1 or 2 we should trade up if possible. If not then I would probably take Suggs at 3.
Hakeem Olajuwon to represent Rockets during NBA draft lottery https://therookiewire.usatoday.com/...draft-lottery-representative-hakeem-olajuwon/
Huge impact for the franchise if we land either Cade or Mobley. The ability Mobley has to cover the paint is impressive reminds me of a young Kevin Garnett.
Picking Mobley over Green is exactly like picking Marcus Morris over Khawi Leonard. You want to go through that again?
