The Rockets are rebuilding. We need to be hoarding assets as much as possible, and trying to accumulate more if we can. Nobody wants Wall. We shouldn't use assets to get rid of him. Maybe at some point he will have some value as an expiring contract. Until then, play him some but mostly sit him due to random injuries of one kind or another.
I can't believe Porzingis is 7' 3". He should have better defense numbers, he is softer than soft. Find photos of Wall throwing hand signs so Rockets can void his contract and set him free.
when things like dump his albatross deal are being said it's hard to tell. You definitely have the benefit of hindsight now though. The receipts JR posted the other day do side with the in favor of moving him at whatever costs
Why would you throw away assets to do what time will take care of .... while the team is not winning anything anyway ? If the team were good and you needed Wall's cap space to make a move that puts you in contender status I can see adding assets to move Wall. But I just can't agree to dong that when this team sucks and we should be in asset collection mode - Not asset throwing it away mode. I say NO to trading Wall until it doesn't cost me to move the contract. That's about a season and a half away - Patience is a virtue.
Porzingis has fallen off more than you think. A trade for him might just be extending Wall’s contract out another year on another corpse.
Back when Chris Paul was looking like a giant lead weight in summer 2019, I said the only 2 worse deals are WW - Westy & Wall. Now that we acquired both, we need to pick the next worst deal we can find that fits in the slot. We could go WWW with Kemba Walker, but keep your eye on Damian Lillard. He's owed 55 million in his age 33 season, that's right up our alley especially if he starts to wear down.
Anybody with any type of basketball IQ surely thought, "You know who would really put the Mavs over the top in this series against the Clippers??? JOHN WALL."
wall is a horrendous fit next to Luka so no. i'd expect them to trade for CJ Mcollum or just unload Tingus to OKC with Picks attached since they need to get to the salary floor.
At some point we're going to have to bite the bullet and not keep trading away assets to ditch bad contracts. While we're rebuilding is as good as time as any. Some team may have an appetite for Wall next trade deadline if he's healthy and producing. If not, then his final year before the season or at the trade deadline will be the other opportunities. If we get Cade, maybe Silas can convince him to be the 6th man. Likely won't happen, but it would allow us to develop KPJ while Wall supports him off the bench.
