People were saying that the Mavs need another playmaker to relieve pressure on Luka. Enter John Wall. Is there a deal to be made? Would prefer not to take back Porzingis since he’s not very good. I’d add assets to get rid of Wall
How would they match salaries without giving us crap we don’t want? They’d have to give us half their roster or KP, which would defeat the purpose. I don’t know that Wall will ever be traded until the last year.
I would take back Porzingas and Powell for Wall and House, without even blinking. Flip Porzingas later if necessary. But this is pure dreamcasting, even the Mavs are not this desperate. I'd throw in Silas, who absolutely adores Wall, to make this deal with Mavs happen.
They need a GOOD playmaker next to Luka not ANY playmaker. They already have Brunson who's better than Wall.
I’d take Silas’ seeming love with a grain of salt. What good does it do to badmouth a guy you don’t want when a trade partner is listening to your distaste?
That you believe that Porzingas and Ryno are the same player in any way is reason why no one engages with you at all.
OTOH - Silas made KP work when he was there. Shirley, if there were a Wall - KP deal to be fleshed out. But, alas, there ain’t. Stretch Wall or learn to love him...
I constantly watch a lot of delusional Celtics fans opine about possible trades for Kemba that involve them getting back a 1st and taking on very few bad contracts and even getting a good player like Jerami Grant. Any trade for Kemba that doesn't involve them attaching 2 1sts and getting back a poo poo platter is just BS. This was our dilemma with Ryno back in the day and it is about the situation we face with Wall. To this date, no one has shown me a realistic trade the OTHER TEAM makes where they acquire Wall. The only team I see us trading him to is the Knicks with 2 2nds attached. Can that happen this summer? I highly doubt it and think it will take until next trade deadline for a team to be desperate. That is about the best we can hope for and I guarantee we get a poo poo platter back with all the trimmings.
The salary needs to be shedded not compounded. And they are looking for forward sized playmaker that can be on the floor the same time as Doncic. Problem with Wall is he is basically come off the bench and doesn't create good enough.
Wall's contract is shorter, he brings playmaking and defense, and is somehow less of a knucklehead than KP. Still, you'd need to add value to get Dallas to consider the swap, given KP's age and potential. Wall and KJ Martin / one of our 1sts this year KP and Josh Richardson Dalls gets a solid young prospect and opens up cap space a year early, while we get two reclamation projects
We don't want John Wall either. It was the pick that came with him that we wanted. It was about the only deal possible to get rid of Russ... Back on topic: no chance the Mavs would want to trade for Wall, or could even if they wanted to.
