I'm not too sure about this, 'cause Oak's an interesting guy, andwe've got good chemistry as is, but if we're going to lose Dream and maybe Walt, what do you think about bringing in Oak? He fills on-court needs (provides rebounding, tough D, tough, period), has a decent little shot, and might provide some veteran leadership that we're going to lose if those guys leave.
Additionally, his contract is up after this year, the Raps are looking to unload him, and I think he said he'd take a lesser role on a contending team. I don't think it would take too much to get him, and Grunwald might do it just to exchange cap relief after this year, so who do we have whose contract is up after this year?

Again, I'n not even sold on the idea myself, just throwing it out there to see what folks think about it. If you think it's idiotic, I won't take it personally.

Hate to post my own reply, but I just now read Stickfigure's post wherein he mentions getting Oakley, and I wanted to acknowledge it.

I wouln't turn my head if Oakley was interested in being a Rocket. But after acquiring a front court player like Eddie Griffin, to go along with Morris and the resigning of Taylor, Im not sure Oakley would get enough satisfactory playing time. The Oakley of now limps up and down the court and seems to lack that necessary energy he once had. Its a good idea but i don't see it happening.

No way. Oakley is not a good player and could become a cancer to this young team.

I don't want oakley having to slap Griffin over some gambling debt. Griffen might have to sucker punch him in the locker room.
