Good show, disappointing that it was cancelled. Not sure if I want to give new Netflix shows the time of day because they kill them fast. Show is much better than the comic, which is pretty rare. What a shame.
I watched one episode and it was pretty melodramatic and the FX was kind of sketchy, looked like a CW show. Might have to give it another try. Spoiler The whole issue with the son killing that guy was a bit much when they were on the verge of getting killed themselves. The philosophical argument between the brothers was good but kind of still over the top.
That argument is the basis for the whole series. Is a 100-year old philosophy relevant in today’s society?
Yeah I figured that was going to be the central premise it was just kind of heavy handed. I will have to say the final battle kept my interest and I appreciate the show having them unlike The Boys which I really like but it still seems kind of low budget. Does it try to be so serious the entire time?
Haven't watched...and it's already canceled? Their marketing sucks. I would've avoided The Boys if I let their campy title screen get to me. Their fans better have a good petition writing game. Some netflix shows take 2-3 years to drop another season anyways
Haha, this season is just the tip of the iceberg. It's a drama. Again, too bad that Netflix is so trigger-happy.
One show in and lot's of problems. The girl is poorly cast, the son doesn't look to good either. The father is ok, but the aging is so undone you get distracted by both parents looking so good. FX were poor. I agree this is like a low budget CW show so far. If you are going to focus on adolescence 101 instead of the action you need to nail those performances and relationships and they did not do it. Father is serviceable, but everything else is really off target.
Not even close. Josh Duhamel plays the same outdated, calm, yet yelly leader that we met in Transformers. His acting is pretty stale to me... I found Blackstar more likeable in the series than The Utopian. If you haven't watched Invincible yet (which I'm sure you have) go re-watch it and enjoy it for what this isn't. Pure bleh.
I watched 3 episodes and I'm highly considering dropping it and not finishing the series (which I rarely do). Just...boring I guess. I can't get into the characters. There's nobody compelling enough to root for or root against. Maybe I'll fall asleep to episode 4 tonight to give it one more shot.
