I had no idea what he was going on about, thanks for helping me out. After this what he is complaining about is even more bizarre.
Maybe I haven't been following long enough this closely but does Dusty seem to rest key guys in the line up more often than other managers? I know Brantley is on the IL but it seems like every game even if there is a off day coming up, one of the big names like Correa, Bregman, Yuli, Altuve etc are getting days off. God damn it I want my fully operational Deathstar line up. I'm fine with days off against mediocre to crap teams but why schedule days off against the elite teams. The Red Sox could very well be a team that we compete against for a wildcard spot if we don't win the division. Why take those risks?
Just a friendly reminder that Lou Gehrig literally was playing as he was progressively dying. These generations are a joke.
Ya Brantley is already on the IL. Why rest two key line up guys against a good team that potentially can compete against us for a WC position. That's three major contributers out of the line up. Dumb.
Dunno if Dusty's particularly notable, but managers SHOULD be resting guys a lot if possible. With the shortened 2020 season and the player's prep routines significantly thrown off, there was predicted to be an unusually large number of soft tissue injuries and it's definitely come true. Dusty's gotta make the playoffs and hopefully have his club healthy for the playoffs; everything else is style points.
Lineup is trash today and Red Sox aren't getting swept in a 4 game series. Hammer Boston. Then take that money and double down on Lebron in Game 6.
I understand rest is going to be needed but it's the situation I'm frustrated with. Red Sox are a potential team that will compete for a postseason position with the Stros if the they don't take the division. Days off against the Mariners? Sure thing, but against teams like the Sox, As, Yankees etc? A bit puzzled.
To be fair, Correa does have back injury history so I understand rest. it's just against the caliber of team that I question.
According to what Click said on 790/Salisburys show a couple weeks back these "days off" aren't all on Dusty. Click looks to the trainers for recommending these days off. Baker is old school old school and I'd bet he's not a huge fan of it but just like the analytics he's going along with it.
I like the idea of giving guys days off, but not two key bats in the same game. Play Yordan in left and let Tucker DH at least.
It’s all situational we had two off days last week, are off Monday coming up, and we are missing Brantley already There are better times to rest these kids
