Because Curry allows Draymond Green to be one of the primary ball handlers. Have you never watched a Warriors game?

In other words, Josh Smith as a Rocket in 2015 had a better PER than anyone on the 2021 Warriors team except for Curry. It really doesn't make sense. How can people crap on Josh Smith while simultaneously crow about the Warriors supporting cast? You can't have it both ways.

You think WS/48 is a worthwhile stat?

It's laughable how many Harden fans think that 2015 Josh Smith should be judged by what he did in later years. That's elementary school logic.

    And this is relevant how?

    And this is relevant how?

Yeah, it's not surprising. The Warriors had a terrible supporting cast this year. I didn't expect them to make the playoffs.

He's really not. Look how he did last year without Curry.

Have you ever actually watched how Draymond Green gets most of his assists? He stands stationary waiting for teammates to get open and delivers the pass. That's not playmaking. Or he passes to Curry who makes a difficult perimeter shot. That's also not playmaking.

Of course the little Warriors fan can’t understand why something is relevant. Oh well, I can’t teach casuals everything.

More like you can't explain why it's relevant so you're running away. Unsurprising. Harden-only fans really do have elementary school logic.

You literally just referenced PER a couple posts ago....

PER is the bottom or near the bottom of current catch all numbers.

    WS/48
    RAPTOR
    TPA

    Waaaaaay better.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't WS/48 assume that the rate of production for small samples will be maintained over big samples?

OK, let's look at RAPTOR. In 2021, Andrew Wiggins had an overall RAPTOR of -0.6. Oubre had an overall RAPTOR of -2.7, and both of these guys averaged over 30 mpg. Josh Smith's 2015 regular season RAPTOR was 0.2, and that spiked up to 2.3 in the playoffs.

Do people really think the 2021 Warriors supporting cast was better than the 2015 Rockets supporting cast?

    144 pages.

While I appreciate the deeper discussion, the thread title question could be easily answered with a poll.

If gsw made the playoffs and had a good showing 1st round then maybe yes, but they didn't. On paper, Draymond, Wiggins, and Oubre are known players, not no names scrubs.

If he were anywhere as good as you think he is, GSW wouldn't have been his 4th team in 3 years.

I gave you several indepth explanations, you chose not to read them (as expected, looking at this thread length). You are really not interested in an honest discussion.

So I'll let you spend your 3-4 hours per day on this thread.

Wekko has taken a HUGE beating in this thread. I've never seen anyone take more L's. He is indeed in basketballholic territory.

You didn't give any in-depth explanation at all. Here's what you said:

"If you have athletic players on your team that are deadly in the fast break? Push the pace and make the team run more so they can score. If you have a slower team that thrives at the half court? Slow down the game so the team can get in position and run half court sets."

There's not even remotely close to an explanation. You've failed to explain how the defensive breakdown occurs. Increasing/decreasing pace in itself doesn't cause defensive breakdowns.

I'm not surprised you're running away. You know you can't win this argument.

His playmaking is now the topic of discussion. He avg 6 apg last season, on a team without a great scorer. That's Curry's career average.

Stop doing this to yourself. You've got to be trolling....
