F150 will sell more than the Cybertruck, and is undoubtedly be a better truck. This will be the best selling electric vehicle in America. Someone who buys a Cybertruck seems like they'd be a douche, wanting to have a "look at me" vehicle. They won't be doing anything truck related in the car. The F150 Lightning is a much more practical vehicle. It will have 450 miles of range (epa est 300 mile range is based on carrying 1,000 pounds).
Yes, F150 will sell more than the cybertruck. No, it will not be the best selling BEV. Not even close. A family of 4 will put you around 500 lbs. In the BEV world, nobody is talking about towing capability, including Tesla. Its going to be challenging to charge that vehicle every 150 miles with a trailer attached.
Nice video. So he said the range of 230 miles (or step up to the 300-mile range model) is the rating WITH half-a-ton of cargo? Now that would be pretty good news for someone that wants/needs a truck.
I’m in the minority but I don’t really love the f150 styling compared to other trucks. However if Toyota dropped a Tacoma EV clone one day I’d probably be all in.

If you are going to go full electric, one of the Teslas is still the best bet. Simply because of their charging infrastructure. You will be frustrated with others in that regard.
Truck guy here. Own a couple of trailers. And although I own a Ford right now, I wouldn’t necessarily call myself a “Ford” guy. I know EV is the future, but I’m not ready to be an early adopter. but hybrid.....especially something like the new F150 with a whole house capable generator and all that diesel spanking electric torque! SIGN ME UP!!!!
This is pretty much why I don’t own a truck, and I’ve actually got a use case with rent houses and being a DIYer. Still, if I got to a point where I needed it even monthly, I’d just get a trailer for the one out of 30 days I need hauling. My FJ can handle the weight.
I've got land and could use a truck for that reason. Still don't have one because I drive a lot. In the future, I'll either get an EV truck or buy a used one.
Had a cybertruck on order, also have rivian, and now will be getting the f150 which has moved up above the tesla. I wasn't crazy about the cybertruk styling, btu the ridiculous range and having a car that I literally don't physically have to worry about as well as it looks like a fun drive. Have a tesla, overall a great experience where I will continue to move forward with electrics, but the company does have subpar service/access, and elon has a tendency to exagerrate and almost never make deadlines which makes me more open to the competition. Ford is traditional but they nailed it in having a lot of practical uses, tech applications, and a long range that makes it practical for me. Rivian SUV to me is an incredible car, backing of a lot of giants, and I will also be giving that a try. I suspect f150 will be a game changer in converting people who like the traditional cars and want the ease of electric. The mode to power up your own house is insane.

I used to think this and own a Tesla myself, but there are a lot of non Tesla charging stations around (ChargePoint, electrify America, etc) and they are starting to have fast charging as well. With Ford pass I think you get free charging which is much better than what supercharger is where you have to pay.
I have had issues with non Tesla chargers. A lot of them are hard to find. If you find them, some of them dont work. Even harder to locate good fast chargers. Not all fast chargers are the same. Lot of variations. Tesla has a more reliable and consistent network. The three reasons why I still prefer Tesla at this point are their charging network, battery tech, and driving data amassed by them. They are ahead in these three main categories. What I am still not sold about Tesla is their build quality, especially the Model Y. The interior and ride is really cheap for a 50k luxury SUV. And their servicing is not that great either.
Model 3 and Model Y are not luxury. Its your run of the mill Accord/Camry. BEV's are expensive. If you want a cheap luxury, stick with your ICE Lexus/BMWs/Mercedes that will need a warranty repair around 36k miles.
