Garcia has three pitches (at least 75 pitches thrown for each offering) with a contact% less than 62%. His cutter’s contact% is less than 50% and it’s his second most frequently thrown pitch. Those are some really nasty secondaries

Didn’t Kuechel once have a “stiff neck” that ended up costing him 6 weeks?

Anyways, I presumed Dusty did know about this before the game. And he intentionally constructed the bullpen order to be Raley-Stanek-Abreu. I guess its just one of those things that there’s really no right answer for. Maybe a smidgen of confidence for Abreu leads to something... but he still needs days off.

Without Pressly the bullpen is so screwed. Anybody heard what's up with Emanuel?

    Got lucky tonight.

Good news is help is on the way.

Yeeeeah...except for that Game 3 he pitched in, in the ALDS with Cleveland. He did not fare well in that series.

When you hit 40+ (years not HRs at MMP) you'll slow down a bit too.

He's just a shell of his former self, understandably.

Broadcast said he was aware before the game but didn't say anything because he didn't want the Dodgers to know, which is understandable.

Today’s game was fun, a lot of tension in MMP. Glad we got the last laugh.

Even sweeter victory SD Padres and SF Giants win, so Dodgers lost ground in their division.

Thank you, I was thinking that didn't sound right as well. He didn't start that game though. Came in and gave up a 2 run double to Marwin on some well off the plate ball iirc.

It's a weird thing, but MLB Postseason stats do not count as (or more precisely, are not combined with) regular season stats. For example, Hank Aaron officially has 755 not 761 HRs, because he hit 6 in the Postseason.

Thus, long story short, tonight is the first time Bauer has officially lost to the Astros.

This self-applies to most Astros fans.

I'm kinda liking Garcia more and more these days. I know he's not a staff ace, but he's done pretty damn well overall. What kinda projections were around him as a prospect? Back of the rotation kinda starter? Bullpen guy? @Redfish81 @Snake Diggit @anyone.

More importantly, we beat Bauer. That feels pretty damn good in and of itself.

Today was bad though. I get players need rest sometimes, but don't rest two of your best hitters on the same damn day. Best hitter sort of loosely applies to Alvarez right now, I'll admit.

Alvarez and Brantley are listed as day to day with minor injuries

Alvarez was a very late scratch. All the official lineups still had him starting.

Brantley has had an extremely good run of health here after going through a lot of injury filled seasons. I’ll trust both parties will do the right thing and not aggravate potential injuries when they can be avoided.

Not just that but part of Brantley staying healthy has been being the DH a lot which isn’t happening this year with Alvarez healthy
