As much as I love HarGod to come back I wouldn't mind that version of Harden to be immortalized as a Rockets exclusive.
griffin wasn't terrible per se (like drummond), but he feels like a drummond where you bring in a guy with a name and have to give him minutes when it's clear there's a way better option already on the team (jeff green in this case).
Durant 32 points on 25 shots for a TS of like 54% 1 assist and 4 turnovers accounting for like 35 points. Kyrie Irving 29 points on 20 shots for a TS of 65% with 1 assist and 2 turnovers accounting for like 32 points James Harden 21 points on 13 shots for a TS of 60% with 8 assist and 3 turnovers accounting for 37 points(if just made the assists 2s). ....I would have to say Irving and Harden are tied for best player tonight(leaning Harden imo though) but I woulndt be mad at someone just saying Irving. I am obviously bias.
They sucked from 3. Durants shot was off. Harden didn’t even play well and still wound up with a 21/9/8/4. Still won by double digits. The luxury of having a super team.
durant was also valuable on rebounds and as an inside presence. nets pretended like they had never seen a tall guy with robert williams. they just kept going at him and expecting a different result. bruce brown shooting a shot right into his hand was great.
durant's D on tatum and overall on the inside was more valuable than harden and irving. he shot too much in the 1st half but was better than the other 2 overall (since harden wasn't that great on offense).
There were at least 5 that game. Klay purposively and blatantly did it all game knowing that the refs were not going to call any. Which is why it gives me great pleasure to see Klay out for all this while. Hope he never comes back healthy to round out the Karma.
I'm calling it now ... the Nets will win the championship, Durant will lead the team in scoring and win Finals MVP for a third time, and there will be an uproar on here about how James Harden should have won it.
I mean, I think that's fair that Durant presence as a defender was good, the dude shot like crap and tanked their offense. They scored 104 points tonight. I just think that he was taking possessions away from James to run the offense to get the other's guy's better shots. He scores for himself and he doesnt raise the ceiling of a team's offense. I think Irving at least bends the defense in ways that helps. Which is why I woulndt mind anyone saying he was the best player tonight. Harden also wasnt a slouch on the defensive end either, he had like 9 rebounds and 4 steals.
meh I dont think anyone here will complain if either Durant or Kyrie play better in the Finals and win the Finals MVP.
With 3 guys each can drop 30 on you in his sleep, (not to mention a 47% 3pt shooter playing alongside those three guys), you won't see much double team. The Celtics just don't have the offensive firepower to compete. Having lost Brown is huge.
Dont think anyone would care james and kyrie clearly have been the ones sacrificing their games the most to make this work
harden still seems overweight and slower to me. last year in the playoffs, harden basically cooked everybody not named dort (okc or lakers). to the point it almost felt like free points if he wasn't doubled. now he's getting iso'd on 80 year old tristan thompson and evan fournier and not beating them easily. that won't hold in later rounds.
True Also seems the Refs allowing a bit more physicality against him this year That Offensive foul he got has been a defensive foul got the last 5 years Rocket River
