Sub out Straw for a more productive veteran CF like Chris Taylor, Mark Canha, or Starling Marte and I’m totally fine with tonight’s lineup being next years everyday lineup. Use the remaining money on extending young guys or opportunism.
That is an extremely low price for Adames imho. A 2nd tier pitching prospect and a non-prospect AAAA reliever. And the Rays threw in a veteran pitcher with some upside. I know it’s usually safe to assume Tampa will win the trade, but I think this is a great trade for Milwaukee. I was hoping Houston could add Adames as a potential super cheap Correa replacement.
It never made sense for the Astros because Adames was going to be moved while Correa is still on the roster....
Wouldn't they already get an extra year if they call him up now? Unless you mean they'll wait until next season
Then there is Super Two status. It's a moving date based on other players in the league being called up. If a player becomes a super two he gets 4 years of arbitration instead of 3. 'Super Two is a designation that allows a select group of players to become eligible for arbitration before reaching three years of service time. To qualify for the Super Two designation, players must rank in the top 22 percent, in terms of service time, among those who have amassed between two and three years in the Majors. Typically, this applies to players who have two years and at least 130 days of service time, although the specific cutoff date varies on a year-to-year basis." https://www.mlb.com/glossary/transa...y, this applies to players,year-to-year basis.
