I am practically forced to listen to the BUZZ at work. What is the deal with all these singers now holding one note for a long time in these new "rock" songs? It is driving me insaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaane. I really can't taaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaake it anymore. Who started this crap? When will it end?????
That Hoobastank song has to be THE worst song EVER recorded. "I'm not a perfect perrrrsooooooooooon... ... AND THE REASON ISSSS YOUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!! AND THE REASON IS YOUUUUUUUUUU!!! AND THE REASON IS YOUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!" Dude doesn't even try to rhyme, for God's sake. Even worse, I guess it was KRBE that played that song with sound clips from the final "Friends" episode. It was so godawful and hackneyed that I couldn't change the station. Somebody needs to be shot if it means I never have the hear that song again.
Maybe Im alone on this one, but I actully like The Buzz and the majority of the music that they play. They are the only station in town that plays new rock that no one else does, and theyre not scared to play a new band that no one has heard of.
That would be the only thing worse. Do they still have that classic country station that was out a few years ago?
The only radio station worth listening to in Houston is 610. The Buzz doesn't play new rock...they play new crap.
And what exactly happened to women in rock music??? The only females that get airplay on the Buzz are Evanesence and, occassionally, No Doubt.
Stop your complaining and listen to the Decemberists. They are scared to play anything the ClearChannel juggernaut doesn't deem "hip". Sleater-Kinney's about to get started on their next LP, so all will soon be right with the world again.
I personally like the Buzz, but just dont like them because they are ran by the rich bastards of Clear Channel. The Buzz is probabley the only bearable station out there, cant stand KRBE, Mix 96.5 sucks when they started to play R&B, and thats bout it. But I usually dont listen to the radio anyway, I just pop in a MP3 CD with 150+ songs into my MP3 CD deck and thats my own radio station. As for female rock bands getting airplay, most of them went pop. Other than Evanecense and No Doubt, who else is out there? The only other ones i can think of are considered pop to me. Oh and I like the Hoobstank song.
I agree, it is new crap. Its worse when they begin to play Eminem. (I think its a white artist conspiracy. ) Its not that I dont like rap, but if I turn on a station to listen to rock, I want to listen to rock, not rap. BTW I wish they played more rock, like The Strokes, The Walkmen, Interpol, Death Cab and Franz Ferdinand.
I'd rather listen to boy bands than crap like Puddle of Mudd, Nickleback, or most other bands on that stations because at least they don't pretend they're not manufactured. They're upfront about it All of those bands are made up of studio musicians and have record deals before they even play out. They're a joke. They're absolutely no different than boy bands except they have guitars and pretend they're "in it for the music".
One of the best rock bands in the world right now, The Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs, is headed by a woman. It's not like the golden age of the early 90's (Breeders, Hole, Throwing Muses, Belly), but there are plenty of rock chicks out there. The ho bags had their fun, now the tide is turning.
