Well, I DO have concerns about Griffin's attitude...Rudy might have a tough challenge

You know at first, I was estatic when the Rockets traded for Griffin, but that was before I started thinking.......and viewing,

I saw the interview with Griffin on Fox 26, with Keith Calkins, and he seems to have kind of a dull, shy tone. And it turned me off somewhat, because it made me think that maybe he is a rude guy, who cares about himself. He did not sound excited at all

Hell, one of the questions I have is....who will he punch first, Steve or Cat.

We all know Eddie was the man at Seton Hall, but are there enough basketballs for these three guys?....I mean Steve and Cat constantly shoot the ball, especially Cat, who never passes the ball.

Griffin has a world of talent, but the Rockets have always been a team full of great chemistry players. I hope Griffin does not ruin this.

Also, there is absolutely no chance that Webber comes down here with Griffin, Mobley, and Francis, You can quote me on that. There are not enough basketballs.

The only way C-Webb comes here, is if the Rockets do a sign and trade, which includes Griffin, Which I would be in favor of.

Sorry to be the first one to be negative about Griffin, but someone had to do it.

Can Steve, Cat and Griffin coexist for a couple of seasons. That will be a tall order, I think.

    Good luck Rudy T.

Griffin is already in Houston? Man that was quick. Anyways, I think that was a terrible assumption you made about his character based upon the tone of his friggin' voice. He's in the NBA now - he has no choice but to get his attitude in check. Another one of those stupid outbursts and NO TEAM is going to want him. I think he's learned his lesson about his attitude.

I agree about Webber not coming here. Even if he WANTS to come here, I wouldn't want him, because we're just going to turn out like Portland - waaaaayyyy too much talent. Mo will fill the job nicely, I know it. He's not too demanding on the court.

So with steve, cat, eddie, mo, and a halfway decent center, WE WILL ROCK THE DAMN HOUSE!

I noticed that two during the interview. I I think you need to remember that Eddie Griffin is a 19yr. old kid that is suddenly getting a camera and microphone stuck in his face. This is something Im sure he's not use to. And also you must remember he just got traded a few thousand miles. But I see what your saying, he does have a calm public demanor about him but so does Mobley and Francis, and we all know how ferocious and competive they become once they lace up their shoes and step out on the basketball court.

Actually, physically and in terms of his manner, Griff reminds me of Shareef when he first came out...Looks like him, and Shareef had that no-tone voice and almost shy/sullen way about himself, but I agree with the previous poster (!?) who pointed out that he's 19, with 1 year of college, and how can we evaluate him on that. The punching incidents, however, do give one pause, but let's hope he's matured.

The guy's in a no-win situation. If he sounds fiery and aggressive... you're going to say "look, he's just waiting to punch someone."

If he's quiet, then he's resentful. Come on... give the poor kid a break. After all the emotion of draft night and a morning flight, I'd probably sound a bit sullen too.

We got EDDIE FREAKIN' GRIFFIN! Celebrate and don't spoil the fun :p.

Of course, you've had extensive training in body language and psychology I assume. Well, that and all that time you spent analyzing the 30 SECONDS HE WAS ON CAMERA! [IMG]

Lets get Rudy some credit here, he knows how to deal with "bad attitudes". Guys he has won with that had "attitude" problems include Vernon Maxwell, Charles Barkley, Hakeem Olajuwon (at times), Steve Francis, Sam Cassell (alleged ball hog), Cuttino Mobley (same thing), Sedale Threatt, etc., etc., and he has been fine. I'll trust Rudy on this.

I know a lot of people who popped someone and they were ok. Griffin is 19 and immmature. Isn't that to be expected. Remember, Chucky took Shaq down in his last year here. Dream knocked the crap of Dennis Johnson during the 86 Finals. Lets let him play a couple years and see what happens.

Because the guy is quiet, withdrawn, and shy you think he's rude, selfish, and out for himself!!?? What!? Tim Duncan and David Robinson are guys who are quiet, and withdrawn, and aren't overly exciteable guys. You see the guy for 30 freaking seconds and you're ready to see who he is going to punch, and you think he is, basically, a selfish punk out for himself!? Do you have a degree in psychology or something!?

I don't want to sound like I am anti-Griffin. I just wanted to put more emphasis on the negatives. RocksMillenium had a good point here.....

I faith faith in Rudy also.

And in the end, I did not consider just the 30 sec interview, when I made my assesment. You can't just ignore the past chemistry problems with teammates.

I'd much prefer to see Griffen punch out an opponent...obviously.

I would like Griffen to punch out a few people on this board...you read 3 or 4 articles about a guy, hear about two (count 'em, two) fights and observe his demeanor in a ****ing interview and you are ready to determine that he needs to be traded already?! That's laaaame. The "chemistry problems with teammates" involved *one* teammate. By that kind of reasoning Clyde Drexler was a problem because he didn't get along with Kevin Duckworth, or Vernon Maxwell.
You might recall that Michael Jordan punched out his teammate Steve Kerr, or that Hakeem could just as easily been called Sugar Ray for all of the fighting he did early in his career. Do these incidents define those players? Of course not. Does Griffen's demeanor in a ****ing interview define him? Hell no. Look at his comments since he has been traded here, look at what his coach at Seton Hall, Tommy Amaker said about him and look at sheer talent and then make your judgments.

The reason why Griffen wasn't picked in the top 6 was not because of his attitude, but becuase Vancouver fell for a Smokescreen and Gstate took the "next Vince" (lol). If anything because that means he's a competitor, not a Cato. I really think when it's all said and done, the Nets will be hitting themsleves repeatedly for no taking him. Attitude in the long run will not be a problem, and there isn't really a guy he could even have a reason to be mad at in the first place.
