they don’t...the Harden haters are the ones who went on and on about rather watching ball movement instead of ISO and how we’d be better off...they are the ones who thought this was a playoff team post-Harden, and then disappeared once reality hit or had to get on board the tank train because they had no choice the receipts are all over the GARM https://bbs.clutchfans.net/threads/team-ball-or-iso-ball.308562/page-3 OP got what he wanted with Harden and his ISO finally gone, but instead of ball movement post-Harden, we got nothing but losses, and they admitted that they had stopped watching the people who were pro-tank the minute the trade happened never went anywhere, and they are the ones who immediately realized what this team really was which was garbage and understood that it’s in the team’s best interest to get the highest lotto pick possible
I'd say we mostly agree, but where we differ is Harden haters' expectations on a Harden trade. People who thought we were going to be better off without Harden just because he hogs the ball, these are the fans you're thinking of to be pure Harden haters. They happened to be markedly wrong, and thus not visiting the forum or watching games anymore. But there are people who knew we'd suck, didn't care, wanted Harden traded anyway, was fine w/ the tanking, a hiatus away from the Rockets for the next 5-10 years or however long... these are still Harden haters, pro-tankers, and ... basically anti-Rockets if you ask me.
Yes, a means to an end. I'm a strong believer that it takes at least two stars to win the championship. 3 stars improve the odds if they complement each other. In Porter/Wood, I see two stars to be. If the Rockets get one of Cade/Green; would be huge. Play to win and allow the players to grow with their foundation set in 21/22. My rule: 3 stars with average to below average role players can win it all. 2 stars with two or three above average role players can win it all. I felt Morey tried too hard to get that 3 star and formed bad contracts in EGo and Ryan Anderson, others in hope of using them to trade for a disgruntled star. Should have just settled for quantity over quality [ on a 3rd star] _________________________________ Bucks were on their way down at 38-44 and picked Giannis as 3rd pick overall. Expected win total posted in preseason of Giannis rookie season (20-62) per basketball-reference.com [29 of 30 projected] 2nd year of Giannis, 42-40. That's what I project for the Rockets if they get either Cade/Green. Elevator going up with Porter/Wood/......Cade or Green If no Cade or Green. Hope that Porter/Wood can attract a 3rd star thru free agency or other better than average players to go with Tate/Kenyon Martin Jr. Edited: Picked 15th but should have been drafted much sooner. All the teams were scouting G.A. heavily prior to draft. At combine was 6'9". Grew about two inches after. I'm hoping Green and/or Kuminga with grow a little taller.
I have watched every game except the last game in Atlanta coz I was working at that time. Needless to say, I enjoy watching rocket games, win or lose. Tilman or no Tilman. I was watching the Celtics and Wizards game yesterday and I cant believe I was cheering for Russ and Ish. Ish is still a blur
I admit I had to look that one up, but I take it to mean question everything or have a questioning attitude.
I don't need to post in a thread to let anyone know I'm a Rockets fan for life. Oh wait. Damn. I just did.
I'm so confused by this recent Clutchfans meme about being a "rEaL fAn" if you're not fine with the direction of the franchise under Tilman Fertitta's ownership I'd argue you aren't a real fan if you *are* fine with it
A true fan of the franchise wants the franchise to do well. So how does a franchise do well? By drafting good players and/or signing the right FAs - all that mixed in a bowl with a bit of luck. Drafting: The best chance to draft a good player is by tanking. Not saying the #1 overall pick is always the best player, but getting the chance to have your pick of the entire pool is extremely important. Signing FAs: No matter how good you want the Rockets to do this season, they were never going to be good enough to make any sort of noise in the playoffs. Good FAs won't want to come to a bad team (unless money is an overriding factor) and good FAs also wouldn't come to a mediocre team. No FA worth his salt would have looked at the Rockets' roster pre-Harden and would think "hey, Lowry and Dragic are super special! I'm gonna win a title with those guys!" I get it. Tanking stinks and you don't want to see your team lose. No one does. But sometimes, you have to take a short-term loss for a long-term gain. A delusional fan are the ones that don't put their pride aside for a year or two, and would rather their team have a 42-40 record and the 14th overall pick, vs a 17-55 record with the best chance at the #1 overall pick.
