Finley is just worse case emergency but yeah it would be weird to trade for stidham when we traded for Finley. But I trust in #BDN
he prolly will never be ready he was a 3rd rounder for a reason texans franchise QB isn’t on this roster well he is but he isn’t this franchise will be bad until they realize the patriots are never gonna have a run like that again since Brady is gone and then they will be trying to copy some other franchise
Won’t go over too well, to some here he’s a slow weak armed back up talent. Those same people don’t realize he was the top recruit in the country as a highschooler, and the talent is worth a 3rd round pick.
Injured in college. What about his physical makeup screams back up? Truth is he’s bigger, faster and stronger armed than Deshaun. None of that matters if the physical traits don’t translate, but to write him off as some scrub seems real suspect.
Yep...and not to mention a first round QB next year by all accounts if he would of elected to return to school.
Mills is a rookie with only 12 college games, but... - He's the most physically gifted QB on our roster (post-Watson) and has the pedigree of being top QB recruit - He's the QB on our roster (post-Watson) with the most upside - He likely won't have to start immediately and can learn from practice and sideline reps - I'd expect him to be #3 QB to start season, but if he earns the #2 job then he'll exceed my expectations; really would like him to have this season to redshirt and hopefully get in a few games to get a feel for the game speed. What would be great is to have some packages for the kid to run a few times a game. The good news is our OLine should be better and we'll hopefully have some decent weapons. I want to get excited about the kid, but he's got a lot of question marks that will have to get answered.
Should note he was the top pro-style QB in his class, not the top overall recruit. Christian Hackenberg was actually rated higher coming out of HS then Mills was. Not knocking on him but recruiting rankings need to be taken with a huge grain of salt
https://247sports.com/Season/2017-Football/CompositeRecruitRankings/?PositionGroup=QB There are several sites where he was 1st

Ya that is the QB rankings, not overall recruit rankings. Yes he was the top QB in his class which is an accolade. But generally speaking, these rankings mean little to nothing.
I agree completely, my point was the talent is there. Physically, Mills is an intriguing prospect. Big, fast, strong arm and a Stanford grad, so should be smart. It would be best for the Texans if he realizes his significant potential.
