If I were Jerry Jones, then I would trade Dak for Aaron straight up...as long as Aaron agrees to a contract to be a Cowboy for a while and doesn’t retire early. Dak has potential but Aaron is a proven commodity.

It would be like 67 million hit on the cap.

I think both teams would go for that move, if the cap was able. Dak would be a good, young replacement for Rodgers and still keeps the Packers, pretty competitive. The Cowboys would be instant (bonafide) title contender, considering how badly Rodgers has dominated the NFC Central. I can't even imagine what he do against the Redskins, Giants, and Eagles, each year.

If it could be pulled off without the cap hit, Jerry would do it without a second thought.

He would never agree to be reunited with Mike McCarthy. At least not in this reality.

Jerry would Fire MCCarthy immediately if he could get Aaron Rodgers. He wouldn’t blink

Probably true too - Kellen or Dan Quinn would be in charge. It would be worth it to see Rodgers go passive aggressive against Jerrah when the chips are down.

Why does anyone believe GB would want Dak? GB has made it clear thru their history that the team is bigger than any player. Dak's contract is probably the worst in the entire NFL.

Aaron Rodgers: Issue with Green Bay Packers about philosophy, not Jordan Love

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Aaron Rodgers' issue with the Green Bay Packers isn't their drafting of quarterback Jordan Love but rather about an organizational philosophy that he believes has gone awry.

That's the story Rodgers told Monday night in an appearance on SportsCenter to commemorate Kenny Mayne's final show on ESPN. It was the first public explanation for how the standoff between him and his team reached this point.

While Rodgers admitted that things changed significantly last year when general manager Brian Gutekunst traded up to draft Love, Rodgers' potential replacement, he suggested his beef was more with how Gutekunst handled it.

"With my situation, look it's never been about the draft pick, picking Jordan," Rodgers told Mayne. "I love Jordan; he's a great kid. [We've had] a lot of fun to work together. Love the coaching staff, love my teammates, love the fan base in Green Bay. An incredible 16 years. It's just kind of about a philosophy and maybe forgetting that it is about the people that make the thing go. It's about character, it's about culture, it's about doing things the right way."

Rodgers, 37, is coming off his third MVP award. He believes by playing so well last year -- when he led the Packers to a 13-3 record and a berth in the NFC Championship Game for the second straight season -- he altered the Packers' plans to move on from him. Gutekunst has admitted that he should have communicated better with Rodgers before he traded up to take Love at No. 26 in the 2020 draft.

"A lot of this was put in motion last year, and the wrench was just kind of thrown into it when I won MVP and played the way I played last year," Rodgers said during the interview. "This is just kind of, I think, a spill-out of all that. But it is about the people, and that's the most important thing. Green Bay has always been about the people -- from Curly Lambeau being owner and founder to the '60s with [Vince] Lombardi and Bart Starr and all those incredible names to the '90s teams with coach [Mike] Holmgren and Favrey [Brett Favre] and the Minister of Defense [Reggie White] to the run that we've been on. It's about the people."

Rodgers praised just about everyone except Gutekunst and the Packers' front office. ESPN's Adam Schefter had reported in April that Rodgers had become disgruntled with that part of the organization.

"I think sometimes people forget what really makes an organization," Rodgers said Monday. "History is important, legacy of so many people who've come before you. But the people, that's the most important thing. People make an organization, people make a business and sometimes that gets forgotten. Culture is built brick by brick, the foundation of it by the people, not by the organization, not by the building, not by the corporation. It's built by the people.

"I've been fortunate enough to play with a number of amazing, amazing people and got to work for some amazing people as well. It's those people that build the foundation of those entities. I think sometimes we forget that."

Rodgers confirmed ESPN's report from earlier on Monday that he skipped the team's first OTA session, but he declined to say how he wants the situation to end. While OTAs are voluntary, Rodgers will miss out on a $500,000 workout bonus tied to participation in the offseason program.

If Rodgers does not report for next month's minicamp, he is subject to a fine of $93,085 ($15,515 for the first missed day, $31,030 for the second missed day and $46,540 for the third missed day). It would get even more expensive come training camp. There is a mandatory fine of $50,000 per day missed, plus one week's regular-season salary for each preseason game missed.

If Rodgers wants Gutekunst removed as GM as a condition of his return, that appears unlikely to happen. The Packers have remained committed to Gutekunst, and he has remained insistent that he will not trade Rodgers, who has three years left on his contract.

The culture seems pretty solid if you love everyone in the organization except two guys and the team has been one game away from the Superbowl the past two seasons.

It sounds like Rodgers is rehashing a media narrative he liked. Who really cares how it was handled. He's not a fluffy cat. Players get drafted to replace you. That's just how it works. Maybe he should have handled that better. Either way, it's fluff and stuff. They need to move past non sense.

That said, The Titans ought to consider it. Tannehill looks good on paper, but Rodgers looks good on the field. They'd be instant contenders with or without a defense if they made the move.

Rodgers did handle the drafting of Love well. He went out and won the MVP. Rodgers saw what happened to Favre and is doing a preemptive strike.

The Titans are currently number 3 behind the Bills and Chiefs. Does Rodgers put them over the top?

Tannehill is much better than you're giving him credit for being.

I'm so tired of this topic on ESPN shows ever day...especially Get Up. There's just not enough sports news to fill the time on shows like that, so they're forced to regurgitate this issue daily with no real updates....just restyled takes on it.

What "happened" to Brett Favre? He retired - after talking about it for several years - so the team committed to starting Rodgers. Then Favre un-retired so they had to do something with him. Those were choices he made - the Packers never forced him out.

They may not have forced him out.

But they certainly put him on notice.

Same thing is happening with Rodgers.

Eh - it's like New England putting Tom Brady on notice by drafting Jimmy G in the 2nd round. No one was ever going to voluntarily get rid of Favre, Brady, or Rodgers. They get to be there until they retire (or get injured and a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity comes like Manning/Luck) or decide they want something new. No one was "put on notice".

It's called planning for the future. And if the future never comes, you just trade the guy you drafted (like New England did) and go draft someone else later.

I believe they were getting ready to move on from Favre.

Not sure about moving on from Rodgers. I also believe it's been reported that Belichick was ready to move on from Brady and Brady went to Kraft. Kraft made Belichick trade Jimmy G.
