I would give Emanuel the 1st shot at starting and if healthy bring up Paredes. Any updates on Urquidy?
Not so far, Yuli either, that I've heard. Agreed on Emanuel. (Why do I always want to spell his name with 2 m's?)
It has been about 3 weeks since he got a lot of innings so he's probably not capable of going too long at the moment. Bielak is likely the bulk guy even if he doesn't start for the 1st missed Urquidy start.
Will we ever see this Pruitt fellow? If so, what’s his role? Looks like he could get usurped by others in the long relief role, but I suppose you can never have enough arms. When Odo and Framber come back, we may find our pen in a bit of a crunch.
Been almost no updates on him, certainly nothing in the last month. I would be surprised if he pitched this season. Which sucks because the 2 prospects they gave up for him look pretty interesting.
Hahah Marisnick might very well be my favorite baseball player ever in terms of personality and watching him play the field. But in terms of overall performance/value, he is def a fringey player and it’s debatable if he represents a meaningful upgrade over Straw. Although I would welcome that change.
In my opinon, Pruitt is one of the leading candidates to be cut when Baez comes off the 60 day IL or when Martes comes off his suspension.
They can make it retroactive on IL. Also, Paredes isn't available today anyway since he pitched 2 days in a row in the minors. I expect a move to bring Paredes up tomorrow.
Then someone else should have been brought up. Emanuel should not have pitched last night with a 6-run lead. Astros bullpen is just not deep enough at the moment. Joe Smith should not have pitched with only a 6-run lead.
Baker has no clue when it comes to the bullpen, not that we have that many great options out there. Hope somebody steps up in the minors or we make a trade. This is a championship team if we can get the bullpen performing.
