The first trailer has arrived for “The Forever Purge,” the fifth and apparently final film in the horror franchise about a version of the United States where all crime is legal for one night a year. After revisiting the origins of the law in 2018’s “The First Purge,” the new entry serves as a direct follow-up to 2016’s “The Purge: Election Year”. That film ended with a presidential victory that lead to The Purge’s termination. The new film will explore the post-Purge world and follow a Mexican couple that stumbles upon a band of outcast Purge supporters while on the run in rural Texas. James DeMonaco returns to pen the new film which stars Ana de la Reguera, Tenoch Huerta, Josh Lucas, Will Patton and Cassidy Freeman. Everardo Gout directs the project which hits cinemas on July 2nd. https://www.darkhorizons.com/trailer-the-forever-purge/ I'm still mildly interested in these movies for some reason......First Purge was decent....
I really like the idea behind the purge and would like to see a movie or series that explored the societal and economic impact. The movies take the cheap horror/jump scare route, unfortunately. I want a 50k foot view.
The series on USA did this somewhat, I missed the 2nd one so I don't know if they went further. I just love all of these movies.
Really cool how they doubled down on this being a political movie after the 1st one. This storyline is an exact copy almost of Trumpers being mad that they lost an election and refusing to believe in the result.
