Oladipo's next contract just tanked SO hard in overall value.

Not that there's ever a good time to get injured, but this was literally the worst time for injury news. Dude is a complete risk.

Oladipo was done a lot earlier in the season than this.

He can recover from this, but he might not ever recover all the CHEESE he left on the table. Plus, we have now officially won the Kelly Olynyk trade. Yay!

Makes you wonder if Rockets were aware of this potentially happening prior to the trade....

That is brutal. Get the Cowboys to pay you. They bought an injured qb, who is average at best, never won anything, and gave him the keys to the house.

But Victor did state they knew he wouldn't accept it.

Props to Victor, he’s a grown man and he chose lifestyle over money. He wanted to be in Miami, and no amount of guaranteed money would cause him to sell his principles. He’s gonna still earn some coin, but he’s gonna have to wait.

I remember when Jason Castro bypassed the contract from the Astros back in mid decade; overall he made as much or more than the guaranteed money the Astros offered, but he had to negotiate a few more contracts.

There is so much stupid money in sports, they are struggling to divide it up.

An example of how luck can sometimes counter idiotic ownership. Shouldn't have traded for him to begin with, and shouldn't have offered him a max extension either. Dodged one for sure.

The scouting/medical department who looked at the likelihood of him bouncing back and did his physical immediately after the trade completely blew this trade. It is possible they expressed the risk correctly to Stone, it feels more that they just missed. The issue though, is that I've had questions with that group for years with the Rockets.
