if nothing else, this should at least be the 1st time he’s well rested heading into the playoffs at least, and he’ll be able to take it easy until the 2nd round by relying on Kyrie and KD instead of having to be the guy at all times
Perfect! Spurs are a nice scrub team for a James comeback, and as a bonus maybe he'll help eliminate them.
their first round opponent could be the heat. that's not going to be an easy team. if they are lucky and get the hawks or celtics, that would make it easier to come back slowly.
Agreed, a big part will be who they play. If its charlotte, celtics, hawks, they can take it easy. If its the heat, game on right away. The play in throws something off
As Rockets fan, are we rooting for James Harden to win a championship, and then the Nets somehow tank next season?
Yes. I would say I'll root always for whatever helps the Rockets, but with Harden, it's hard not to root for him now. I think while it's bittersweet, it makes sense for Rocket fans to pull for him to win a title, it would do so much for his legacy and help validate from a historical standpoint all that he did here. Plus, it will be great as a basketball fan to watch him come into the playoffs rested for once and see what he can do. If he's back healthy and in good shape he should thrive, and I'm confident that the Nets will win the title. Just this once. Then we can go back to hope for whatever helps Houston.
I hope he wins too, but I'd feel if they do indeed win a title - they are just going to attempt to keep building from that. Perhaps would it not be better if they lose and implode early in this playoff and start a domino chain of events?
You are right, from the Rockets standpoint, but no, I can't bring myself to root for that this season. I want James to get his title. If James' Nets somehow don't win it this year, with KD and Kyrie, all the Harden/Houston haters will be trashing him. I really want to see him win this one, and he deserves it. Next year we'll see how I feel.
BTW Blake Griffin is sitting at 40.5% from 3 with the Nets on 3.2 attempts. https://www.nba.com/stats/player/201933/ Probably would've been even higher if Harden didn't get injured.
yup I noticed. He was well below that the last couple weeks. He reached like 36-37% at one point. The last couple of games raised his % with his low totals. In a full year his % wouldn't be this high at 40%, but the small sample size has helped him. We'll see how it turns out these last 3 games
lol its perfecty reasonable 50% winning rate dont get you to playoffs in the west... if lebron missed playoffs in the west why durant couldnt do the same? as per kyrie hes never led his team to PO as a sole star
