Frank Vogel was great with the Pacers but trash as **** when he coached the Magic. But then he delivered a championship to LA. Let's see what Silas can do with a healthy roster. It's hard to win NBA games when half of your roster is on the inured list.

I have mixed feelings. When they had talent, there were times early in the season when the team looked damn good. There have also been times where they look like the worst team in the NBA. He hasn’t done much recently to give me a high opinion of his coaching, but he’s got to get a little more time, right? I think he deserves a little more time to show something.

He's in his rookie campaign and has the worst team in the Association, so he's on the hot seat by default.

Silas will have a chance to make things right next season, but could easily be gone by the break.

    No Proper Training Camp

James Harden came into training camp overweight, because he is mad that Daryl Morey and Mike Dantoni were gone.

Wanted to get traded, Team upset and sad with so much tension on Harden.

Russell Westbrook wants to be traded.

    Roster became old, rehab team.

John Wall coming off Achilles Surgery, not played in 2 years

Demarcus Cousins Achilles Surgery got released

Danuel House played terrible throughout the year

Victor Oladipo played selfish along with John Wall. Got traded for a better player in Kelly Olynek. Yes Kelly Olynek has Outscored Victor since being traded for each other. Victor is injured again.

Eric Gordon played well until before trade deadline Hamstring Out for Season

    Thankfully a Young Core

    Kevin Porter Jr.
    Christian Wood
    KJ Martin Jr.
    JaeSean Tate
    Armoni Brooks
    DJ Wilson

Kelly Olynek a huge surprise, a Solid player. High IQ.

    Uncertainty during last off-season.
With the GM, Coach and Veteran Players all wanting to Leave.

To a GM, Coach all signed and committed.

Young Players are ready and want to play for Houston.

Any coach that owns the longest losing streak in Rockets history should get a yearly review for next year. The streak losses weren't close, most of them were double-digit losses.

This squad is crappy. But scrappy.

This means to me that Silas is being effective when all around is defective.

I doubt hes on the hot seat. Everyone knows this team was injured. Just look at the DNP'S. Also team is too young, new. Too many rookies out there. D-Leaguer's etc.. /thread

Twolves have been doing that for years. Pick 1-4 for years. Loads of top picks on their team. Currently 29th place.

Your plan will be great fun for all.

Tillman will do whatever saves him the most money. Most NBA coach's salaries are guaranteed = there's no way Silas is gone.

Does anyone know how much he makes and for how many years? I looked and could not find it.

Don't really understand the Silas critics, in here.

The path to being successful is either being really good or being really bad. Mediocre ain't gonna cut it. But I think 'mediocre' is what the Silas critics wanted - be competitive throughout the season, only to end up being 9th/10th seed and then swept by whoever the 1 seed is.

People are just too spoiled by Harden taking the Rockets to 8 straight playoff appearances and being good year-in, year-out. This was always going to be a down year compared to other years. When it became obvious that it was a really down year, you might as well tank.

2nd longest losing streak in modern NBA history. He played several cruddy teams during the streak and was continually blown out. He played small ball the full time Tucker was here and then tried it with Tate and it was costly. We only look more competitive because we finally play tall players. He is decent offensively, but team lacks discipline (talking to you Wall) on shooting too many three pointers with bad players. Let’s not even talk defense....which has been the worst in the league for most of the season. Grade F. He’s a super cool, humble, and nice guy, so I am for giving him another shot for the first 10+ games next year. Similar results and we sadly will need to get someone with more head coaching experience.

The idea that Fertita would pay two coaches salary is laughable.

Anyone coaching a team bidding for the worst record is automatically put on the, "Hot Seat."

I mentioned Patrick Fertitta probably getting promoted and Silas being scapegoated last week.

Well, rumors are that Patrick may be the new CEO.......Silas, watch your "6"

You tank by not giving it your all.

You don't tank by making illogical decisions game after game after game. That's the sign of a bad coach.

The only thing saving him, is the fact this franchise won't be good for a very, very, very long time and won't need a coach built to win.

I think people want the outdated "stern coach", even popovich has had to adjust and then not to mention he is an anomoaly. Most coaches will tell you its a talent league. You can make adjustments and a philosophy, but in the end of the day no one is innovating the game too much these days. The way the rules are adjusted makes it more abotu playmakers on the court to create and showcase talent for better or worse, so thus you have to be a great communicator, you have to be able to have their respect and a relationship to where they will lsitedn and be inspired on defense as well.

Rick carlisle learned too after his stint with rondo and then bashing heads with luka, who is obviously a genrational talent, that you can't rule with an iron fist anymore. ITs a new generation, you can dream about it, but it won't work well in this league with the players as 50/50 partners which is the case now.

Silas has a great voice and the respect of the people. This year is a shitshow with the organization saying they are 'willing to get uncomfortable' with harden and unleashing maybe the dumbest PR move which hurt our own asset, chances, and brand in this league with the players, agents, and beyond. Texans had a similar situation with a guy whose performed a lot for their franchise in jj watt, you don't replace guys lke that, but they respected it and did it quietly as harden had requested earlier. It was bad for the entire team, city, etc.

Silas is under contract, tilman known for cutting cost even when we're a winner, he hired a rookie gm and coach for a reason, Silas isn't going anywhere nor should he. Alogn with the rushed season and instability and drama, I think its fair to say I want to see what he does next season.

If the Rockets are trying to rebuild their image around the league getting rid of Silas after this messed up season ain’t the way to do it.

    Eggs-ACK-tlee.

The organization would go from dog turd to Godzilla turd if Silas was fired after one season.

Hell, we can't measure his incompetence after a season when he needed to throw games. I'm not optimistic, but Harden's presence was supposed to help cloak the stench.
