So let me start by saying I’m very hesitant to start this thread. It was just too great of an experience not to share. I’m hoping that more here saw what I saw. Was it really anything out of the ordinary? Hell, I don’t know. It was something. let me also say this... I don’t do drugs, drink alcohol or take prescription meds (nor do I need to) of any kind. Day starts exactly like every other day. I wake up, get dressed for work, wake my two boys up, get them dressed and ready for school. We walk out of the house at 5:25 am. Walking to the car my oldest son says “dad why are the stars moving” I said they aren’t, it just appears that way. I didn’t even look in the sky. Then my youngest son said “ no dad they are moving, what is that”? I looked in the sky and could not believe what I was seeing. Lights in the sky moving in a perfect line that stretched from one side of the sky all the way to the other. They were not planes. There were no flashing lights. At one point one of the objects moved straight up out of line and then moved flawlessly to the left. Almost as though it was watching the others as they were marching by. There were at least 50 of these things. After the fact my boys said they were moving toward a bigger brighter object. I didn’t see it because I was so fixated on this line and the way they were moving. So anyway, I grabbed my phone to film. I made the mistake of trying to zoom in. My crappy iPhone captured nothing. So I ran back to the house where my girlfriend was on the treadmill. I banged on the window and motioned her to rush outside. By that time probably half of them were gone, but she did see the last half. She was like what is that? I said you tell me. I’ve never seen anything like this. We were just completely dumbfounded. So another 30 seconds go by and they are gone. All I could think of is no one will ever believe this. If I could ha e captured this on video it would have been the most amazing “UFO” footage ever. Nothing that I have ever seen on previous video comes close to what we witnessed. All I kept saying to the boys is, no one will ever believe this. I really hope others saw and were able to capture video. I’m so blown away that I cannot believe it. I just can’t believe it.
You really did see it? Or that was a joke? I have no idea. What freaked me out is one of them moving straight up and then to the left. I might have been on board with a satellite type thing, but there were so many I couldn’t even count them.
Didn’t look anything like this at all. This looks like a vertical line. What I saw looked like a perfect row of stars moving horizontally. I’m also super pissed at myself. I was so jacked up that I didn’t even hit video. I took two still pics that showed nothing. I’m an idiot for not keeping it together.
Why Elon be scaring normal day folk. shame shame. But yea; if didn't know about the news; it'd scare me too.
So just to be clear, are there more than 50 of them? Would they move up out of line and the opposite direction? Honest question.
Everything you describe (lot of em, independent movement and formations etc) is what they do during the Starlink tests, I've seen them myself last year and it's amazing to watch.
Eta Aquarid meteor shower was also peaking last night. If you were out before dawn breaks you might have caught a streak of Halley's Comet enter the atmosphere. https://earthsky.org/astronomy-essentials/everything-you-need-to-know-eta-aquarid-meteor-shower
Starlink orbit path https://satellitemap.space/ You do realize that where you are determines how you view items in the sky, right? It's perspective. Starlink orbit path: https://satellitemap.space/
So, basically, it looked exactly like that (because it *was* that) but just in a different orientation. Good work, Copernicus.
damn - ease up. Astronomy is hard. speaking of, astronomers are pissed about all these new satellites.
