His days as a Rocket were numbered since he got that mustard stain on his hair.

It's just a depressing trade in a string of depressing trades.

We made a terrible trade giving up CP3 to swap for Westbrook (and having to give them draft picks for it...)
Then, because of that bad trade, we had to make another bad trade to make up for the first bad trade because, to the surprise of literally no one, Westbrook can't shoot.
Then we had to make another bad trade to make up for that bad trade because the second bad trade didn't work enough to fix the first bad trade and we ended up with Wall because Westbrook's contract absolutely sucked.
And finally, we had to do another bad trade because the last three bad trades were so bad that our foundation player was upset, pouty, and forced his way out.

What had happened was, with Capela out, there was no more lob threat... so all defenders had to do is guard the perimeter and let Westbrook attack the paint. Well, Westbrook had an injury and sucked it up... he started shouting dumbass jump shots. The Rockets unknowingly hamstringes the team by getting rid of Capela, our rebounding, and Elite interior defense. Now we’re here... we don’t defend the middle whatsoever cause we can’t. Lol

    Hold up

If you think any roster move made after the Westbrook deal is on Morey ... you are mistaken

Morey vehemently fought against the Russ deal
When Harden went over his head straight to Fertitta, Morey was effectively out of the loop going forward

The series of roster blunders that followed over the next 18 mos are Fertitta's, which is why Morey is now in Philly

    - desperate Capella deal to try justifying the Russ move
    - inexplicable extension for EGo out of nowhere
    - completion of the trifecta PG downgrade ... CP3 to Russ to Wall
    - worst of all, the Texans-level incompetence in return for dealing Harden

Morey was far from perfect as GM here, but asigning proper value to assets is arguably his greatest strength

    Exactly
His recent 'quantum leap' forward has basically done nothing more than made Clint a legit rival to Golbert as the best of the Pick'n'Lob style 5 ... That's it

So he now sits at the head of a class that includes many, many other similar bigs:
Dwight, DeAndre, Hassan, Mitchell Rob, Javelle, etc

Having that type of C on the floor in crunch time is a massive liability each OFF possession, somewhat mitigating the dynamic impact made on the other end

Meanwhile, I'm totally good watching CWood evolve into a 20/10 monster that can do more with the ball than dunk lobs
Oh yeah ... He can also board and swat too

    Joker
    Embiid
    Bam
    Vucevic
    Myles
    Ayton
    KAT
    CWood

I take any of the above over Clint without hesitation

the first domino was 2018. People can't understate this, heck even Chris Paul himself won't

Former Houston Rockets guard Chris Paul was on the Knuckleheads podcast with Darius Miles and Quentin Richardson and explained the impact of the Rockets losing Ariza.

“People don’t realize, that’s the biggest thing that we missed. That was tough when we lost [Ariza] because he sorta was like the glue. He was that glue for our team.”

Who did we replace him with, James Ennis. James ennis was traded that febuary, while in MDA's short rotation, for a top 55 protected pick. We also cut Daniel house for 2 months until it was tax friendly.

Imagine you're paul and harden, playing hard minutes, coming off a year almost at the finals, owner takes the mike and says you guys need a killer culture he will instill after demanding better results with a worse product for those fans who don't know any better. It takes depth, cohesion, and the margins of winning are pretty damn small in the playoffs, year in and out role players who are not headliners make a difference, but tilman will brashly declare anything knowing most fans don't pay attention this.

And Shane Battier is one of the more well rounded role players I have ever seen. He could do a little of everything even if defense and shooting were his two best skills.

Who is better capela or Covington? Morey is trash. Without colored glasses looking back he gets exposed over and over.

Hey guys remember how I am the idiot who liked Marcus Morris over Kawhi Leonard and have been reminded of that blunder for the last 10 years? Fortunately I’m just some random jerkoff on the internets. Unfortunately you know who else liked Morris over Leonard? The guy getting paid millions to know better, Daryl Morey. Funny thing y’all worship him instead of reminding yourself of that every time his name is brought up. Trash.

Interesting that Clint felt the team was going downhill at that point. Well not really interesting, but just more confirmation that it was time to blow it up.

Determining players by awards is the dumbest thing ever. Battier was a stationary player who couldn’t dribble the ball at all. Gay was far superior to him in almost every aspect. Never seen Battier stop anyone. Kobe dropped 50+ on him multiple times and people called him “Kobe stopper”. And if watched the Heat-Knicks series a couple of years ago, it was embarrassing to watch. He was like a traffic cone in front of Melo. Good at help defense and taking charge but he’s not long and athletic enough to be an effective one on one defender.

It isn’t the tell all but the fact the Rudy has exactly 0 accolades tells anyone all they know how good he really is in reality. So you can start there but unfortunately for Rudy it ends there. Who gives af if rudy could put up shots. He obviously doesn’t do much else and does nothing to contribute to winning and every team he’s been on has basically sucked and not been significant. Yeah you still stay posting dumb but you’ve been that way since day 1 anyway. Nobody should expect anything less

I still remember there was a playoff game against Utah where only 4 players scored the ball. Scoring outside of T-Mac and Yao was a huge problem back then and we for sure could have used some of Gay’s scoring. Trading Gay for Battier was a mistake.

Physically impossible for 3D players to be one dimensional.
