So we got Tyler Lockett-ed AGAIN!!! Hold on. We traded from 174 to 170 at the very end didn't we? I need to go back and see a timeline to see if the raiders picked at 167 before or after we made the last trade. Because if they had already made pick 167 then it makes no sense to give up 233 to move up 4 spots to 170 if your guy is already gone!
why tf would texans give up so much to trade up without knowing for sure if their guy would be there? O'brien vibes all over again
QB Davis Mills (Stanford), Houston Texans, third round – “I think he’s a steal. His game fits the NFL really well. With the offense they run, he really gets through his progressions. He’s decisive and has above-average ability to anticipate and hit windows. His game can translate quickly to a pocket passer.” TE Brevin Jordan (Miami), Houston Texans, fifth round – “I love the way he moves for a tight end. He’s way more talented than a fifth-rounder. The way he can flex out and play receiver complements the way that the game is going. He reminds me of Evan Engram [New York Giants], and could be a strong red-zone weapon.”
JUST IN: #Titans fourth-round draft pick Rashad Weaver has been charged with simple assault according to a court docket from the Pittsburgh Police department obtained by @WKRN According to the docket, the report was filed on April 30 in Allegheny county. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for October 5th of this year in Pittsburgh City. The incident occurred on April 18, 2021. According to a police criminal complaint, people on the scene said a male later identified as Weaver punched a female (5'7" 140lbs) in the head. The officer on scene, "observed no injury consistent with a punch to the head." 4/25 - Anderson O'Kelly (arresting officer) spoke w/ the female who said she went to the hospital on 4/22 bc she was throwing up."She was diagnosed w/ having a concussion. She also stated that she got proof from the hospital that she was pregnant during the time of the incident." Also from the report - "Before leaving he (Weaver) stated to other officers on scene that he had no problem hitting a female if they needed it." @WKRN
They don't know if the Texans were going to draft him. They assume that because Lovie Smith coached him at Illinois. You don't trade up just for 1 person. You have a few players in mind. People assume ****. People freak out. Andre Dillard...turns out Howard was the better pick.
No, Cal, Howard wasn't, either prospectively or in hindsight. Dillard's injury could not have been predicted.
Dillard was terrible before the injury too. Just gotta take the L here and admit that none of us knows what’s going on in a draft room.
wow! somebody is going to look stupid, either the rest of the league or the Texans. ETA: tweet is wrong! contract is $2.4 total, making much more sense.
Bring on the Rattlesnake! In his initial 2022 mock draft, The Athletic's Dane Brugler projected the Houston Texans to select Oklahoma redshirt freshman QB Spencer Rattler with the No. 1 overall pick. In the majority of early 2022 mocks put up since draft festivities ended in Cleveland on Saturday, it's been either Rattler or UNC QB Sam Howell -- whom Brugler slots in with the Lions at No. 2 -- on top of the mountain. Another early trend we're seeing, one epitomized by Brugler's mock, is a lack of receivers in the top-10. Brugler's first, Ohio State's Garrett WIlson, does not get slotted in until pick No. 16 with the Titans. And while the analyst does ultimately mock five wideouts into the first round, here, three do not come until after pick No. 28. Suffice it to say, there is no Ja'Marr Chase in this receivers group.
I think dude was trying to credit spotrac for the information, not saying that the contract was 2.4 mil a year, that would be insane for an undrafted guy. And I'm pretty sure that contract is not guaranteed
If the Texans chose Rattler over Thibodeaux, knowing what we know now, I could finally break the tie that binds.
