Wall and Gordan to anyone with a young player and maybe a pick. Exum ,Brown and Bradley can all be released.
$99,527,251 in committed salary $66,935,120 (67.25%) of that is John Wall and EG. $12,886,949 under the cap $37,078,559 under the tax line. Apron (Hard Cap) should be $144,543,910 NT-MLE $9,535,740 T-MLE $5,889,540 BAE $3,731,690
[if this were an Oklahoma State board] “Cade lost to a 12th seed. Sure he has talent and puts up some numbers but it doesn’t translate to winning. I’m glad he’s leaving - I want to get more minutes for the high school kid I read some glowing reviews about. He fits our timeline better.”
If next year is another tank(intentionally) year, I would trade Wood(I don’t want to but no point in wasting his contract and production in a tank) for draft stock or young stud
Maybe a little early for an answer to the thread because we need to take the best available player in the draft so the will shape our team’s needs and rotation later. PLUS, There will be a lot of rotation worthy talent that doesn’t get drafted because of the size and talent of the players in this draft. There are only 60 spots. So we need to pick up some of the unhomed players, too. Really early still but more than interesting.
No but use of either NT-MLE Or BAE invokes the hard cap , just being on the receiving end of a sign and trade would .... can't at any point in the season cross the apron which I calculated to $144,543,910 based on the information we have currently. They are $45,016,659 under the apron as things stand now. My expectation would be that they stay below the tax line as there is little reason to pay the tax if you suck .... They are $37,078,559 below the tax currently.
Wouldn't expect a 30 win team to pay the tax .... its kinda pointless to do so. I think he may have learned his lesson the hard way ..... losing Harden and going from a 65 win perennial contender to the worst record in the league had to be a bitter pill to take but it was his own fault , trying to run a sports team in the margins like a restaurant .... You just can't skimp on talent ands throw assets out the window to save money and expect to keep top tier players .... they aren't going to stand for it - Trade me to someone who will spend. You know damn well that when Harden requested the trade he explained exactly why .... If Tilman won't spend , he won't keep a star ..... they'll treat the Rockets like a mid major market. We'll see this offseason if learned that lesson or not .... What they offer Olynyk will be a good indicator of how they will operate. If they come at him cheap and he goes somewhere else into cap space or thru a S&T where the Rockets get jack **** in return .... we'll know.
I say get rid of anyone that cant manage to stay on the court and play more than 20% of the games per season. Sometimes I forget Gordon exists and House is always not playing due to something. Sometimes I think House just makes up things and plays hookie like a kid not wanting to go to school.
see i think they have been purposefully pulling guys under fake injuries - just so they dont go out and look crappy while the team has been tanking and hurt their value... i think Wall was the guy in charge of the tank - go stink it up and be selfish so we lose (bc he has a long fat contract and time to recoup his value post tanking...) so i'm not really taking most 'injuries' to heart this year... thats just my take at least... maybe just wishful thinking - but it tracks in my head... lol
You can NOT keep trading away young talent and expect to BUILD A FOUNDATION! KPJ and Wood are foundation pieces, you have to put pieces around them
