Addison Russell also plays on Acereros. Never been to Panama, but if I do I'll look up "El Caballo". He's probably either there or his ranch in Wharton.
Personally, I do not like plantains, not fried or any other way. I don't think I like Wharton either, dunno, pretty sure I drove through that county twenty hundred times on the way to somewhere else, I'm more of a Hill Country or Coastal guy. El Caballo Diablo? eta: Panama is awesome. Go there someday.
I guess I used to be a member here. It's been so long I don't remember it. I don't know if I lost interest or was banned. I prefer to keep politics out of baseball, but when the MLB introduces it or other posters politics enter the discussion, I can't help but respond. Will I be welcome here? Or will it be a waste of time? I can handle a strict baseball only rule or an open discussion thread or forum. But I won't last long with only PC comments allowed. ps Basketball is DEAD to me. Every level. pss Football too.
I've expected it to take a while before he is effective coming off Tommy John. 2020 was a washout and delayed recovery. His effective pitches are FEEL pitches. A fastball pitcher could recover quicker
You liked this post, so I'm guessing you missed the sarcasm. Anyway, it's cool, chief. I'll talk sports with anyone regardless of their political opinion. And you probably don't have to be totally PC, but there's jo need to offend people in an online sports forum either, you know? Regardless, go Stros!
I definitely missed the ~sarcasm~. I've tried to get people to use '~' to indicate sarcasm, but it's never caught on. I promise to be no more offensive to others than I am offended by others. I just ask for a consistent strike zone.
Well above average last two cycles through the rotation. 4/21: Urquidy, 5IP, 4R, 4ER, 1k 4/22: Javier, 5 IP, 0R, 0ER, 9K 4/23: Greinke, 7 IP, 2R, 2 ER, 6k 4/24: Odorizzi early exit. Emanuel, 8 2/3 IP, 2R, 2ER, 5k 4/25: LMJ, 6IP, 2R, 2ER, 5k 4/26: Urquidy, 6IP, 2R, 2ER, 2k 4/27: Javier, 7IP, 0 R, 0ER, 6k 4/28: Greinke, 4IP, 4R, 4ER, 5k 4/29: Garcia, 5IP, 1R, 1ER, 6k 4/30: LMJ, 7IP, 0R, 0ER, 9k if you count Emanuel as the starter in his game, that's an average start of 6IP, 2.52 ERA and 8.0 k/9. They averaged better than a quality start every time out. Great timing too, having a few terrible starts in the early in the block of 13 straight games could have murdered the pen.
I was livestreaming the games, but apparently MLB is cracking down so I can't watch them anymore. I'll just follow the team like I did as a kid. Look for the box score the next day. Gotta see if the Rooster or the Toy cannon hit another monster shot...
It will be very weird if the Astros end up with too many healthy starters soon. Garcia has had a little luck, but still looks like a starter to me right now. He should still improve some on endurance and finishing off guys with Ks. Odorizzi will be better than he's been, though not sure he will be one of the 5 best starters if Valdez returns healthy and current guys stay healthy. Bielak and Emanuel are looking like good middle relievers/spot starters (floor).
I haven't heard any updates lately (last time was when he first began throwing toss on level ground), but at one time Verlander was working towards being available late in the season and for the playoffs. I assume it will require some rehab time in the Minors which is just getting underway.
