He's the Kyle Tucker of the pitching staff. Definitely has pitched better (and probably deserves better) than his record.
Give him some credit, he's pitching well. UMP is giving him that outside edge and Kikuchi is hitting that edge w/ ease.
Kikuchi threw maybe 2 strikes that inning and struck out the side on 13 pitches. The Stros may not get another hit this week.
Since 2019, the Astros are the best hitting team against TB. Though, no one has really hit TB since 2019.
Man. If only this lack of hitting was predictable. I still have a good feeling. Crush their spirits two nights in a row!
This is why I shouldn't say things until a pitcher is out of the game. 1 run deficit is enough, there's not a chance they score 3 runs this game. eta: I love you Yuli
Yep. Abreu/Stanek (with a healthy Pressly) is possibly the best back-end of an Astros bullpen since...? Certainly has a much bigger upside than what was suspected prior to the season. (I also had this post typed after the first 2 outs... and just had to wait through all of that to get it out there. 2 innings is probably a lot for Abreu... maxes out as a 1 and 1/3rd guy).
So does the same sort of tip-toe around mentioning you know what work here? I often find the mere discussion around the jinx... is the jinx.
2019 when they were the best 7-9 and 8-9. Bullpen wasn't too deep, but had a couple of good setup men.
