Some actors still have star attraction gravity. But most people have realized that actors are just skilled entertainers, not gods to emulate or worship.
Using superhero properties isn't a very good example, imo. If you go into a Nolan-directed Batman movie expecting to see Bale try to get nominated for an Oscar, you're setting yourself up for disappointment. Superhero movies are meant to showcase the superhero...not the actor acting. At the same time, I watched 'Ford vs Ferrari' because it had Matt Damon and Christian Bale in it. Not because it had depictions of Henry Ford and Enzo Ferrari.
I had this show on in the background during the evening, so I saw a good part of it. Worst awards show I have ever seen. Now, I will admit, I don’t watch all the award shows, but this was awful. It didn’t help that I hadn’t seen any of the movies. But, there was literally no excitement or energy in the room. Sometimes, I do enjoy the Oscars. The Golden Globes are usually entertaining. So, I do like some of these shows. The pandemic made everything hard. But, I would have thought Hollywood could have come up with something entertaining. Seems like the best hosts aren’t interested in this gig anymore.

I must admit Miranda is aging well. I am all in on Carly Pearce at this point. 1997 Faith Hill-type feels.
