I realize that, but if this was Texas Hold' Em, they are now holding a Jack/Ten instead of Ace?King. Sure, the another team can come in and win with 2/7, but every percentage point is crucial with their pick on the line, and theirs is only top 3 protected I believe.

 

Wow KPJ is the great successor to Wall for the tank commander post!

 

Can't say Wall ain't a leader.. His protege slid in position seamlessly ...

I've never watched the postgame press circle jerk. Has anyone asked Silas why the team guards the three point line like deer-in-the-headlights drunks?

Sad, but true.

 

In hindsight maybe. Tell me one single person, when, the trade was made, who thought the Rockets would be this bad 2 years later. I don't recall a single person complaining about the pick swap, because no one thought the Rockets would be even close to getting a top 4 pick.

 

There has barely ever been a white player that is at least marginal or decent that you don’t like. It’s all good though lol

 

I remember many people, including myself, were complaining giving up "4 first round picks" for Westbrook. Someone reminded us that it's actually 2 picks and 2 swaps. I thought it didn't matter. It's still extremely costly.

 

Truth. There is a written record called Clutchfans.net that probably shows you, me, Clutch, and everyone else groaning about the cost and the imminent closing of the window when that trade happened. That was the beginning of the end and it was clear from the feeling all hardcore Rockets fans got on that night.

 

I admit I haven't felt so bad about the situation of our Houston Rockets ever before. I wouldn't be surprised if Cade or anyone else demands to be traded to another team .

My fear as well ever since Aaron Gordon shot down trade scenarios to Houston at the trade deadline.

I try to accentuate the positives here on CF's such as prop up John Wall, C Wood, KP Jr and Silas; but I also catch myself trying to reel in
sky high CF members by mentioning Tilman, Patrick F, too many guards, Harden-Westbrook drama has damaged this franchise reputation further,
etc.

Rockets have been in damage control and working PR optics hard since: solid favor to Tucker in the form of trade to Bucks, solid favor to
Oladipo in the form of trade to Miami, etc.

Hopefully things will improve. The elevator isn't completely at the bottom floor, but plenty of room to travel upward.
I can't say, "things can't get worse."

 

The Tate/Kelly/Wood frontline is pretty damn nice.

Our guard situation is the worst in the NBA.

We need KPJ to grow up, John Wall to ask for a trade, EG to be traded, and we need to draft a stud PG/SG... ETC

 

Cade has been as shy as I can remember for a surefire #1 pick. It seems we are going to be the worst team, so if we get him we may not be as screwed as you said. But I definitely see your point there.

I think these last few games we may have a glimpse of a young rotation.

I'm loving the Martin Jr minutes, Tate is playing well. Wood, Porter Jr. + Top4 Pick. That's 5 NBA players.

7 NBA Guys who should be getting most of our minutes

If we can put Wall+House+Gordon+Brown+Nwaba+Olynyk+Augustine on a blender and get 1 veteran to remain as a leader (most likely Wall) and as much picks as we can get from the rests of them.

Leverage our cap space into assets and move from there. At least you are tuning in for the young guys, give the 2nd unit to Wall and surround him with dunkers and 3&Ds.

 

CP3 for Westbrook straight up would be something debatable, given how bad CP3 played the season before. But all those picks and swaps attached made it such a stupefying deal.
